Basketball players were led by Co-captains Greg Huyck and Paul Kupper. Tim Flan- nery was the leading scorer with a total of 312 points. Tim has made vast improvements since last year when he finished the season with 8 points. Flannery also had the most rebounds for the team. , Gregg Huyck led the players with both as- sists and steals. Highlight games in- cluded the Fenton game, 49-47, and the Lk. Fenton game, which was won at the buzzer with a score of 57- 55. M.V.P.'s this year were Flan- nery and Huyck. Bob Sheyachich was voted M.I.P. and Todd Huot was given the coaches award. Lin den Hockey The Eagle's Hockey team did exception- ally well by starting out the season with 10 consecutive wins, but gradually lost their momentum but not their spirit. An in- crease in penalties against the team and injuries to the Magalski brothers played a large factor in the Eagles's temporary downfall. But pulling themselves together, the Eagles went on to end the season with a very respectable 15-8-4 record. Linden en- but then failed to get by Hartland, making Linden's first time in the play-offs a disap- pointing one. The 1981-82 Hockey team consisted of a lot of all-round talent with Doug DuBois, Tim Whitten and Mike Wood leading a strong defense, combined with Chris Beck- man and Scott Morse on the offensive at- tack. This blend of offensive and defensive talent was best displayed in Linden's victo- with a score of 0-4, The Linden's defens held Lapeer East to their 4, while the of fense came from behind to score 5 unan swered goals, making the final score 5-4. Special awards for All-League were giv en to Chris Beckman and Scott Morse, ls team, Tim Whitten, 2nd tearng and A Dickenson and Mike Wood for Honorabl Mention.
