Stabilizing the squad with her ball handling abilities Kristy Mann led the team with the most steals and assists And after a prolonged injury Anastasia Kogut returned to credit herself with the most rebounds Defensive strength was Tracey Tunningly s con- tribution to the team as she continuously sup- ported the team in rebounds, steals and assists. Donna Augustine received sportsmanship award for her marvelous spirit. Lynette Wolver- ton received the most valuable player award. Rob- in Hickox the most improved player award. WIN OR LOSE, WE'RE This year, the Linden Girls Varsity Basketball team finished an impressive 6th place in the Genesee County League with a 6-8 record, and an overall 9-13 record. The team at Parent's Night! STILL A SUCCESS The Lady Eagles started out the season disappointing, losing three non-league games. The girls picked up the tempo and went on to win many of their next games. High- lights included: a one point victory over Goodrich, defeat- ing area rival, Lake Fenton and slashing state ranked New Lothrop 37-32. The biggest win for the team was a very impressive victory over league champs, the Hamady Hawks. The team also accomplished something special in District tournaments as they defeated Brandon 53-39, but went on to be defeated by Hartland. Special Awards given this year went to Linda Millington, Coaches Award, Debbie Johnson, Most Valuable Player, Lisa Schaefer, Most Improvedg and a special defensive award to Junior, Sheryl Urban. Other awards were also given to Kelli Hintz for First Team, All League. And to Lisa Schaefer and Debbie Johnson for Honorable Mention, All-League. Special recognition was given to Gary Pederson, Ms. Judy Stoeri and Mrs. Julie Totzke, for their help in making the team a success.
