VARSITY BASKETBALL At age 30, Linden girls' Basketball coach Cliff Totzke was a success. Our sports society usually judges success upon how much a team wins, and in that respect, Totzke has seen only limited good fortune. But beyond that he has built a team atmosphere that was unequalled among the four area squads. Although Fenton, Holly, and Lake Fenton all had fine pro- grams and good records to go along with them. For some rea- son, the Eagles were different. Watching Linden play, we were reminded of that We are Fah-mily craze made popular by the Pittsburg Pirates a few years back. The fundamental difference between the two situa- tions is that here there was no dancing in the streets and, well, not as much winning. The Linden girls were a closely-knit family. There was a lot of hugging and hand-holding in the huddle, and always plenty of smiles. One gets the idea that the Eagles were really having fun out there, and that winning wasn't as all important as it's supposed to be.
