DEBBIE GWIN Girls' State Representative Girls' State is a mythical state formed by girls from all over Indiana. The girls gain knowledge of the basic fundamentals of Indiana government by actual practice They learn the duties, privileges, rights, and responsi- bilities of American citizenship. This program, spon- sored by the American Legion Auxiliary, helps to build a strong America and to preserve our priceless tra- ditions and heritage. STEVE ROBERTSON Boys' State Representative In 1970, 916 boys from various parts of the state congregated at Indiana State University to spend an action-packed week learning more about our govern- ment and about our role as United States citizens. To many of the boys, however, it was a time to get to know other boys and their feelings about our gov- ernment, world problems, religion, and just life in general. It was a prosperous time for all, including me.
