EL SS HISTIJHY Su Dear To Our Hearts We will always remember our short sojourn within the castle walls as an enriching experience 1n college life, and though these years are in the past, there will always be time to remmisce back On a bright technicolor day m Autumn September 18 to be exact we entered through the doors of Lmden Hall junior College twenty one strong We were greeted by our big sister whose job lt was to show us around the school and 1ntroduce us to the superior sen1ors That first mght we were taken to the moues in the town of L1t1tz and after wards we were mtroduced to the local college hanffout called The Oasis where you filled your empty stomach between school hours A meeting at 10 00 was held 1n our honor m the famous Senior Lounge where all the do s and don ts were handed down to us We were qulte bewildered at first but it wasnt long before we became a part of that Lmden Hall school spirlt The next mght a formal dinner was held to 1ntroduce us to the faculty members which was followed by a dance All girls of course Classes were runnmg smoothly even though some of us wondered what k1nd of marks we Would attain especially in a subject foreign to many stenography Soon rumors began about Freshman 1n1t1at1on and one cold dreary morning in October many alarm clocks went off spontaneously 1n the dorm and all our blg sisters informed us this IS it just follow orders We went through what was called a HELL DAY Carbed in lll'lStyllSh outfits and pledging our time to our superior seniors we spent twenty four hours at their beckoned call We even went as far as havmg air raids and ended up by scrubbing floors W1th lots of hll3.I'1OllS 1nc1dents 1n between That day was soon followed by somethmg more pleasant a trip to Mount Gretna This affair comes is a complete surprise You spend a whole day m a park with a picnic lunch of barbecue sand wiches for lunch and roller skating 1n the afternoon This 1S a wonderful t1me to rem1n1sce wlth all vour fellow colleagues Before long our class was preparing for the Chrlstmas fest1v1t1es A dance was held at the Sutter on Decemb r 17 Th1S mght will long be remembered as it was spent with our favorite beaus Leslie and Cookie lcted as waitresses as their dates were overseas and they were being faithful Soon semester tests were before us but with much studying we all managed to escape the proba tion list VVe were all readv for our long week end that followed but were sorry to see three of our juniors leave The fraternlty parties continued and each week end we could alwws count on many funny stories from the lucky lasses who were away at other school for gala week ends A I1 lllS1C3.l show was soon in swing and Pat Julius and Nlcki Dorrance were excellent as the lead ing st lrs of Heading for Lake Placid with Nancy Stewart bringing the curtam up for many encores because of her hilarious part as Elsla the Chamber Maid show Then there was the prep lr ttions for Mly Day and the process of le lrnmg dance steps for the theme Grecian Holiday XVe ended that xx onderful JIIIHOI' ve lr by honoring the seniors with 1 prom entitled Nloonlight and Roses held it the Iris Club in Line ister Craeluatlon brought in end to mlm close frien lshlps but the fun wc hid our first year would cert unly continue in September The next ye ir we were the ones to greet the new juniors and to help them get st lrted on the road ahead The ex ents that followed were second nlture to us mcluding hell el ly But this vear during lllltl ltlOIl the tables were turned uid the mlslnformed juniors were It our mercy VVe had the pleasure of tossing our little sisters out of bed lb Cooke Plumb s voice NI Ike your beds and let your hair down echoed through the ciorm These girls were 1n the vogue is thev formed cham gmgs up town danced in the L1t1tz Springs and pr lcticed a1r rald drills prone position in their laundry bags 1n the streets Our hats were off to the ILIUIOTS Thex were such good sports that the Senlor class held a p lrtv lll the lounge for them serxing do nuts md cider Shortlv lfter Hell Dlx the all day outing to eighteen 4 . . . 7 , , - . 3 .
