CLASS PROPHECY MAY DAY 1962 Greetings to all altunnae of the class of '52. This is Elise Smith reporting the latest on, - no, not France and my French projects, but on my perennial trip lo the annual May Day Show. Although some of you were not able to attend. l've certainly kept tabs on the progress you have made - and what progress! Before I left New York I met -Ioan Guldin who was leaving the East the next day for her screen test in Hollywood. fIt's still in Californiaj A clean-cut, honest-to-goodness talent scout spot- ted her while she was breaking her back grace- fully, sweeping stubs from Radio City Music Hall. She's very delighted and says HELLO to all you dahls . Well then, off I went on the 8:35 train westward bound for Lancaster. I was a little late for the horseshow, but I ar- rived in time to see our old equestrians ogling the horses from all sides. Bill Hedden was the first of the lot. She was on-e of my horsey room- fifty-three mates, you know. I couldn't forget. Bill had her little offspring by her side, sporting an ultra- modern Gene Autry - or is it Hopalong Cassidy? - outfit. I-Ier feet interested me as she had two miniature spurs on the back of her Western style high-heels. We were chatting like crazy when all of a sudden Critter and Stevie Polaek whinied up. They are still the same old fillies, but with a little more dignity in their voices. Both are operating breeding rahches in the wicle open spaces and they love it. I left these gals together and proceeded to the buffet luncheon where I found Peggy Coull, in a lovely garden dress, interviewing some of the trustees of Linden Hall - with a microphone, no less. I didn't get to speak with her at all because she was so busy with the mike - it kept slipping out of her hands. As you know, I love food and I was all set to enjoy the edibles when joan Kauffman sat beside me with more food than even I could handle. Such gourmets are we! She told me it was worth
