The theme of this year s annual The Lancer Reign is based on our mascot and his duty in life The role of the Lancer originated in ancient Rome but reached it s peak in the Middle Ages Prospects were bound to oaths of loyalty courage and a giving generous spirit but Lancers could get tuff at times too They were sworn to defend the country and often died proving their loyalty to the King In l96O we became the Lincolnview Lancers when York Hoaglin-Jackson and Van Del Schools fpictured respectively and respectfully on the coverj consolidated Our present colors of blue white and gold were derived from each of these Schools. York - blue and white Hoaglin-Jackson - purple and gold Van Del - red white and blue A local contest resulted in the name we now proudly bear Lincolnview for the old Lincoln Highway and the Lancer as our mascot 1 N 71 7 4 1 ' 1 Q! fi l I 0 ln putting together this book we have tried to portray our students with characteristics befitting of such a title.
