Their record was G3 in dual meets, The success of the team was attributed to all the hard work they put in during the season. The girls' team had five members qualify at section- als to advance to districts. They were: Corrine Arnold - hurdles, lwrn dash. Iwm dash, Cindy Thatcher - long jump, IOOrn dash, 200m dash, Val Thatcher - 800m run, l600m run, Sue Haines, Cindy Thatcher, Steph Girod 8 Corinne Arnold in the 4CD11 relay. ln district action, Val Thatcher broke the school record in the 800m run and the I600m run. The 400m relay team also broke the school record in district action. Dis- trict results: Corinne Arnold 4th in hurdles and Cindy Thatcher 5th in long jump. v- 1' 9' :tm ,eg 9 The LHS Winter Sports' Banquet was held on March lOth, in the cafeteria. The capacity crowd made seating a chore, the extra parents had to eat in the Home Ec. Room. When the time came for the presentation of awards, everyone was squeezed inside the cafeteria. Awards and letters were presented for the following varsity and reserve sports: boys' basketball, girls' basketball, wres- tling and cheerleading. Freshman basketball and cheerleading let- ters were also included. Their season record outshined any of the other win- ter sports' records.
