Lincolnview High School has a fine collection of books for high school students and is furnished for the comfort of the student body. The library was brand new in the fall of 1968. This year there are hundreds of new books. The library is frequented by many of the students of the high school. A library should be of use to students and teachers and should be an integral part of the school. The selections which have been made for the library are for the use of the students and faculty. The reference materials, books in all classifications, and numerous magazines provide sources of information. A pamphlet file and a vertical file are maintained. Francis Bacon described the value of books and thus of libraries succinctly in the following quotation: But the images of men ' s wits and knowledges remain in books, exempted from the wrong of time, and capable of perpetual renovation. Neither are they fully to be called images, because they generate still, and cast their seeds in the minds of others, provoking, causing infinite actions and opinions in succeeding ages. Those of us who are a part of Lincolnview can be truly proud of our high school library. The materials are there to build better students and better citizens. Did you find the magazine you ' re looking for Mrs. Sunday? Jim Morrison working in the pleasant atmosphere of the library. 38 FHA Has Many Projects Row 1: D. Wolford, D. Pavel, S. Mohr, R. Long, L. On Heart Fund Sunday, Lincolnview F.F.A. boys canvass part of the Lincolnview School district for donations. They also sponsor a dance for the school when the F.F.A. Queen is crowned for the coming year. As the Christmas season approaches the chapter and its members donate money for food to give to two needy families in this area. During the winter months the chapter competes against other F.F.A. chapters in basketball. The varsity team had a 1-5 record while the reserves had a 5-1 record. The chapter also participates in the public speaking and district parliamentary procedure contest. This year they won a silver medal for a prepared speech and a bronze medal for the extemporaneous speech. The parliamentary procedure team received a gold rating. In the Spring the chapter sends various teams to the state judging contest held at Ohio State University. As the F.F.A. year comes to an end it is the time to honor members for their hard work during the year. This is done at the annual parent and son banquet. This year the chapter sent two boys to the state convention, Bruce Baer and Steve Bolton. Robert Bolton was made honorary member this year.
