The Van Wert County Youth Safe- ty Council is organized with a high school student membership from Lincolnview, Crestview, Ohio City- Liberty, and Van Wert. The purpose of the council is to promote organized all-round safety programs and exchange ideas on safety at local, state and national levels. To instill in the youth of the community respect for the law and its agencies. To conduct youth traffic safety programs, and pre- sent to the public a favorable, com- petent and courteous youth image. The council participates in the J u- nior Fair activities and the county fair, participates in the annual auto inspection safety check, makes an annual survey of traffic hazards throughout the county and makes recommendations regarding traffic signs, promotes traffic safety, parti- cipates as a member of the juvenile jury in an advisory capacity and sponsors the traffic violators school.
