ScOaro 6 de . . . These words typify the deep feelings of a senior as he goes out the door of his alma mater for the last time as a student. He may not be filled with just pleasant memories, but he cannot help but feel proud of his school and have some re- gret in leaving it. It is all these mixed emotions within the student that we, the yearbook staff, have tried to capture in the ' 61 Lancer. We have attempted to show all the roles of the student - in organizations, in ac- tivities, in athletics, in the classroom, in his relations with faculty and administration, and in candid shots - that round out the life of the average high school student. We sincerely hope that this first volume will exemplify in future years the co-operation and to- getherness of everyone in the first year of consolidation. As you leaf through the following pages, gazing at friends and fellow classmates, we hope that you will have many pleasant memories brought to mind. For all that is left now is a memory of 1961.

school boaro an6 executive head Left to Right: Lloyd Stewart; Richard Welker, president; R. O. Sawmiller, executive head; Paul Swartz; Byron McCoy, vice-president; Edwin Adam. The local school board is, in effect, the policy-making body of the school. It is their duty to see that state and county requirements are met, and the school curriculum is fitted to the needs of the students. In addition, our present school board was faced with the task of merging three schools (York, Van-Del, Hoaglin-Jacson) into one. The efficient organization of the Lincolnview schools is evidence that the work was competently done. Past officers were Edwin Adam, president, and Richard Welker, vice-president. In his capacity as executive head, Mr. R. O. Sawmiller directs the activities of the five schools comprising the Lincolnview school district.
