CLASS HISTQRY Let us drift for awhile on the tide of memory back over the scenes of our high-school life and review the scroll of the past as it unrolls itself to us. Slowly the dim recollections are revealing themselves and now our first thoughts picture us as an enthusiastic and earnest body of Freshmen-one hundred and ninety-eight in number-timidly, but steadily entering upon our high school career. Barbara Shrum was chosen as our Freshman leader. As our Freshman recollections fade away we pass across the threshold of Sophdom. Now we are not quite as green and are no longer frightened. This year we had the fun of carrying the daisy chain. The Student Government Organization was running smoothly now and the year proved to be a most prosperous one. Our junior year is characterized by that ever-abiding atmosphere of jollity. This was a year of fun as well as study. We were now approaching what we had been looking forward to for a long time-the Junior-Senior banquet. With hard work from the stu- dents and teachers our banquet was a success. We also had fun publishing the school paper, running for Student Government offices and selecting our rings. Some of our members engaged in hard-fought and thrilling conflicts upon the athletic field and others excelled in book work. At last. we have come to the last of our happy days spent at L. H. S. As seniors we were busy electing officers, selecting invita- tions and publishing our annual. Joe Henry Hoffman, Martha Moore. J. M. Broome and Billy Lander were chosen as our Senior leaders. Now, we are facing a future of unrest. wonderment. and uneasi- ness as to how our ship may reach the shore of achievement. As we leave L. l-l. S. we are confident that our lives will prove a symbol of success and honor to our parents. school. and fellow classmates we are leaving behind us. Surf Bezxrriu. Historian. l'r1rli' Iiitwnlif
