Alice Kincaid. Jack XValker. and Kathryn lf. Beam as their leaders. In 1939, one hundred and fifty-two. with Betty Gabriel. .Ioe l5ord. Mary lfthel Houser. and John Anderson as their leaders, began their second year towards the top. This year we had the fun of carrying the daisy chain. also the Student Government was put into efliect. In 1940. one hundred and eleven Juniors with Catherine Beam. John Anderson. and Joe Ford as leaders. began their third year of hard work. Never fearing the dignihed Seniors and having much fun in publishing the school paper. running for Student Government ofhces, we ended an enjoyable year with a successful Junior-Senior Banquet. In l9-ll, seventy-two proud and dignified Seniors finally began their last steps toward their goal. led by David Lineberger. Donald Rudisill. Mary Ethel Houser. and Betty Gabriel. A brief struggle with governmental facts, Shakespearean tragedies, and geometrical figures led us to the final change of selecting rings and invitations, publishing the annual. and presenting the Senior Play. Many months have passed, now we suddenly realize that we have reached our goalf graduation! As we face the outside world there is a mingled feeling of regret in our hearts, as we think of trying our wings in a broad. open world and leaving behind us forever the sheltered friendliness of our high school years. The four years within the walls of I.. H. have been well spent. May our happiness here strike a keynote for the coming years of our activity. wherever we may go. Hl:LIiN XVISIQ. H1sIu1'1ul7 .
