Senior Class History Every Senior of our class remembers the month of September and the year nineteen hundred and twenty-eight. That day on which we made our entrance to a school that is cherished and hon- ored by all+the dear old L. H. S.--will never be forgotten and will occupy a lasting place in the hearts of every member of this class. It was then that a noisy, laughing group of boys and girls climbed the steps of Lincolnton High School and passed through her doors. Vsfhat the days before us held in store we could only guess. but with resolute minds and with hearts filled with confi- dence, we began our Freshman year. lt ended with a record that won the praise and recognition of even more learned students, who had utterly disregarded us when we had first appeared, Then came our Sophomore year, which we began with a class of seventy-five students. sixteen having been less capable, fell behind. With our officers as able and worthy pilots, we sailed through a sea of difliculties and safely made the port. Cur success was complete, when at commencement we marched across the campus bearing the daisy chain for the graduation class of 1930. Cur next and third year of instruction was ushered in with the election of oflicers. When Jesse Robinson was chosen President of the Juniors as an able executive, and eflicient assistants were selected. our class began its labors in earnest. Cooperation was our watchword, and it was through the help of everyone that none of our attempts were made in vain. We immediately set to work and began preparations for the banquet, which is given each year for the Seniors. Then on May l, l93l, the Junior Class gave a banquet at the Woman's Club House. Those who were present enjoyed several hours of fun, feasting, and entertainment. and will always remember the occasion as one of the most pleasant of their high school career. Commencement, when Juniors served as marshals, closed the year. Page Tuxervty lout
