Willie Williams, senior, bench-pressed 190 pounds in his weight class to set a new school record. William Ward, senior, bench-pressed 235 pounds in the over 220 pound weight class. Ricardo Mitchell impressed the spectators when he bench-pressed 225 pounds. Verifying Willie's weight before the competition were Coaches Sovchik and Nabinger. Weight I New Schc Lincoln-West's 1988 Lift-a-Thon saw some old school records fall by the wayside. Willie Williams, senior, set a new school record in the 120 pound weight cass by bench-pressing 190 pounds and deadlifing 350 pounds. Lawrence Marzett, sophomore, also set a new school record in his weight class when he bench pressed 210 pounds and deadlifted 370 pounds. Explaining the rules of the Life-a-Thon is Coach Sovchik.
