Track Is Alive Again At L-W Clarence Jones. Derrick Lesley. Marcus Valenline Derrick Williams. Marvin Rollins. Earl Harris Nat Cox. Linda Carty. Jesse Betle Melvin McKinney. Terrance Travick. Terry Slewart Kevin Fairfax. Ron Smith. Brian Scruggs. Larry Ferguson The L W TRACK TEAM under the leadership of Co-Captains Dennis Felton and Brian Scruggs with Coach Robert Bump’' Taylor at the helm had a success season. Brian set a new school record of 10.24 in the 100 meter 21.04 in the 200 m. and 47.62 in the 400 meter. The team entered several events this season Knights of Columbus, Ashland Qualifying Trials. OSU Dual meets Blue Bonnet Relay where they placed 4th out of 20 Dayton Relay where they placed 5th out of 80. In the mile Relay we finished seconded behind Detroit Central who set an all State Record. The Bellaire 9th out of 100. Returning next year are Tim Golar. Ronnie Smith. Dennis Felton (our lead relay man behind Scruggs. Kevin Rembert was our field man in the Shot Put. Next season more field events, more runners and hopefully Cross Country. TRACK 17

Our Girl Runners Have And Class bty le It was good to have GIRL'S TRACK back at Lincoln West. This small but talented group of girls did well. They were qualifiers in Track and Field for the Cectional- District 1st with a time of 51.3 400m Relay April. Linda. Fannie. Wanda 2nd in 1:48.5 in 800 m relay April Sherry. Fannie. Wanda 2nd with 26.7 in 200 m Dash April 2nd in 13.0 in 100 m Dash Wanda Appling 2nd in Shot Put with a toss of 35'6Vi Linda Taylor 4th Discus with a 99'5' Linda Taylor Our team won 56 points and took third in team totals. Reginonal qualifiers for finals. Wanda Appling. 100 m dash placed 7th with a time of I 2.9 Miss Carmen Rodriguez Coach with Miss Peters running stats did an outstanding job. ii JYS0N
