To raise money for the group they staged a series of very successful Roller Skating Parties at the USA Roller Ring. This provided not only badly needed money for the girls' uniforms, but a great time for the school. They deserve their ranking of Number One. Everyone agrees. WOLVERINAS 23

CAGERS ARE A WOW! The Lincoln West WOLVERINE BASKETBALL TEAM coached by Jim Slatinsky finished the year with an 8-11 record. Wolverine fever started slowly as the Wolves lost their first two games to St. Ignatius 88-51 and East High 68-46. When things looked pretty bleak Coach Slatinsky heated up the Wolverines fever as his team won the next five in a row. It started with a victory at Collin-wood 66-53 then Parma came to L-W to be terned back by a tenacious Wolverine defense 71 -43 Then the game of the year. John Hay came into the game with a 5 - 0 record and a string of numer ones in the PlainDealer top 50. It was a close game all the way the game was tied at 69 with just five big seconds left to play.
