Chemistry The purpose of the department is to give instruc- tion to those students intending to major or minor in the subject, to those students who plan to enter medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, home economics, or any other specialized field requiring a knowl- edge of chemistry, and to those students who desire a knowledge of the subject as a part of their general education. Dr Willis E. Byrd heads the Department of Chemistry. Dr. Herman T. Miller is Associate Professor of Chemistry Mr. Jerry M. Lindsay is an Instruc- tor of Chemistry.
