The Governor of Missouri Warren E. Hearnes. Missouri ' s [5th governor has risen rapidly in Mis- souri State government. He was elected to the House of Representa- tives from Mississippi County in 1950, the youngest man at the time ever elected state representative from that county. Reelected in L952, V , 1956 and L 958, he was elected majority floor leader in 1957 and 1959. He became the 30th Secretary of State of Missouri January c ), 1961, and was elected Governor of Mis- souri November 3. 1964.
