Still others talce art courses simply as a means of expression, of trans- lating thought and sight to painting and sculpture. Lincoln University's art students, under the direc- tion of James D. Parlcs, head of the Art Department, participate in many intercollegiate art exhihitions, and put on an exhibition of their own worlc. The Art De- partment also hosts an Art Festival in the spring of the year. Art majors talce positions as art teachers, com- mercial artists, and creative artists upon graduation.
