THE LAST MILE Cornin' to the end of the road slowly not even surely the end draws near The times left behind are now the Good Old Days that weren't so damn good but will never be forgotten Times that sometimes hurt more than helped but experience builds — or destroys and I'm still around at least for now The distance is so far I can't see the end of it but I can't stop — I can't stand still a motionless man is an easy target The end, like most things, is a mystery never solved and frequently never seen The paths are many the way is long. Clarence E. Martin, Jr.

. . . From The Editor To the Graduating Class of 1976 Year after year we have traveled old Route One to Lincoln. Our years of traveling to this great institution have come to an end. Now we must search for new routes and if necessary create our own paths. We leave Lincoln with the feeling of holding a partially filled glass of water. It is half way filled, yet it is half empty. With a sigh we pack our bags full of memories and experiences that have taught us so much. Yes, Lincoln is for LEARNERS and I offer my congratulations to the SURVIVORS of 76 , for you have encountered and endured the turbulance of Lincoln's period of transition. Build your souls and attain them, the achievement of success is to be admired. Remember that the family is the key, it is the greatest achieve- ment of all. Therefore, I offer to you that which my parents gave to me, the three greatest states of consciousness man can achieve. PEACE, LOVE, UNITY. Ruth Day Hargrove Editor-in-Chief 9
