Text from Pages 1 - 68 of the 1959 volume:

LINCOLN-SUDBURY REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL Sudbury, Massachusetts vay, UNITE AND LEAD We are united in our endeavor to make a good school and to produce top quality citizens. We have the benefit of mixed ideas, skills, and personalities with which to develop sound leadership. We have tried to demonstrate our unity and our leadership by producing a book which portrays every person and activity within this school, The number of young people in Lincoln and Sudbury has shot upward in the last few years. Naturally, with growing numbers of young people, more space and equipment are needed to educate them, and these cost money. Since the two towns could not afford a really fine high school separately, the citizens, having a common problem, met and formed a single school district, and the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School was built. Regional,'' which has become one ofthe really fine public high schools in Massachusetts, is certainly an excellent example of what can be accomplished when two towns work together. We, the graduating class of 1959, have been at Regional'' during its first years of existence and have seen and helped it grow. Before we leave, we wish to express our deep appreciation and thanks by dedicating this yearbook to the people who made this school pos- sible - the townspeople of Lincoln and Sudbury. : ss ce Oe) by Sue SSA GALE. A very short time ago we were two entirely separate groups, yet, in a period of four years we have successfully com- bined into one. No longer do we make distinctions between our fellow classmates on the basis of where they live. Aside from receiving an education and participating in many activities, we have had the additional opportunity of growing socially. We have reached the point where we can look at each other as individuals. We can disregard the superficial differences we find between ourselves and others and can enjoy each other as individual people. I feel that this, perhaps, is one of the greatest benefits we have gained during our high school career, As each of you leaves this school, try not to forget what you have learned here. Keep in mind that people are first of all individuals, but that the interests we have in common will never be outweighed by our differences. If you have learned this in eighteen years, you know more than most people learn in a lifetime. Charles Styron Class President 10 CARL D. ABRAHAMSON NDAVE ABE ! January 30 The Service as a career... Two of these three months were spent in Vence and Saint Paul, our twinned towns in southern France near the Med- iterranean coast. Here, they lived with the French people, spoke the French language, and learned much about the country and people of the region. The other month was spent in travel through Europe. The students arranged for all their transportation, hotel accommo- dations, meals, and sightsee- ing. Thus, not only did they learn something about other countries, but they increased their ability to take care of themselves, Community support is shown at Benefit Supper. Xe Grant makes sure that the salad is tossed. Second Student Exchange Planned On October 27, 1958, a bene- fit supper featuring French dish- es, preceded a P.T.S.A. meeting at which the six students, who went to France in 1958, described their experiences.
