A child's buildin'g blocks can hold the answer to character development. A child doesn't begin immediately to build giant skyscrapers. As time and practice are needed to build tall buildings with blocks, so time and practice are essential in building- character and personality. Knowledge blocks are arranged in ascending order through the four years of high school. Prep- aration for future occupations and positions re- quire knowledge and wisdom gained in those years. Athletic blocks are made of health, sports- manship, fair play, competitive desire, and companionship. Blocks of success and failure build an individual, as does the training he receives. Activity blocks provide leadership, disci- pleship and business wisdom. Organizing meet- ings, Robert's Rules of Order, and office cam- paigning are blocks which add to character building. These various blocks are buffed and polished to make the rough-edged Freshman a smooth- edged, well-rounded individual by the time he graduates. Faye Campbell january 1960 2
