MODEL CLUB Lincoln's Model Club was organized in 1955. The purpose is to promote the in- terest in building model planes and boats. Mr. Tichenor is sponsor. The club con- sists of fifteen members with Don Pen- nington as president. CHESS CLUB Check Mate! Every chess player hopes for this position. The Chess Club has continued to grow since it was first organized in 1954. The purpose is to promote better playing skills. The three top players serve as officers. RED CROSS CLUB This group links Red Cross work of Lincoln to that of the national organization. Their sponsor is'Miss McClooneg the president is Carolyn Crane. They are contributing to both school and community life. CARTOON CLUB The Cartoon Club is one of Linco1n's newly organized groups. Sponsored by Mrs. Ahern, the members paint cartoon posters for health practices and for other school activities. Offi- cers are: President, Phil Meschg Vice President, Kay Morse. 52

Judy Hurst is the president. There are 30 members. FIRST AID CLUB First aid and safety are most important in our steps forward thru Lincoln. Miss Feore helps these students to learn this. First Aid certificates are given for perfect club attendance. Marshall LaBow serves as president. ki' MW NUMISMATIC CLUB Members of this club, sponsored by Mrs. Etchart, trade and collect coins from all over the world for discussion each week. Every year they have one or two coin exhibits. Serving as president is Stuart Miller. MODEL TRAIN Lincoln now has another model club! The Model Train Club emphasizes model railroad building. Members have completed an elaborate layout with the help of their president, Dick Hallitt and Mr. Vaughn, their sponsor. 53
