W BOYS l' NIS... Boys' Iunlor Tennis Club Brad Shirley and Bob Pride are the players who top the lunior Tennis Club ladder. The club meets every Monday with Coach Scott as sponsor. Members are: back row tleft to riqhil: john Kemper, Tom Knee- shaw, Mike Llllard, Ian Olcott, Kenny Srnith, Dick Wright, Robert Smith and Tom Lingam. Front row: Keith Knepper, Bob Pride, Henry Gibson, Brad Shirley, lei-ry Pieh, Richard Drake and Mike Bland- ing. Boys' Senior Tennis Club Fred Beck, B-9, tops the Boys' Senior Tennis Club at Lincoln with Dale Williams second and Bill Htndererlhird. Under the di- rection of Coach Lendon Scott this club meets every Friday. I The club lost a tournament to Santa Barbara but redeemed themselves by defeating Emer- son. Members are, back row tleft to rightl: Dale Williams, Bill Hind- erer, Fred Beck, Del Fedderman, Mike McGuire, Duncan Ward, Dan Reader and Byron Cox. Suzanne Brenner's team cap- tured iirst place in the eighth grade G.A.C. which meets every Thursday afternoon, with Mrs. Carruthers as sponsor. Other teams competing in the tournament were: Marcia Knott's, Barbara Gi1bert's, Carmen Crum- packer's, Diane Gil1's and Shirley Wa1ker's. Q N! W Q ., ...N ut. . N... .4 Ninth Grade GJLC. Wendy Machamer, Carol Cris- ler, Barbara Moody and Molly Mclntire are the captains of the teams that play round robin tournaments each Monday after- noon. Wendy Machamer's team cap- tured iirst place honors in volley- ball with Carol Crisler's team .taking a close second. The soft- ball -'tournament proved to be quite a thriller, too. Mrs. Car- ruthers is club sponsor. P35 il I v P w -rn. :fur 1 a i i Seventh Grade GJLC. Ending in a three-way tie for first place were the teams oi Margaret Arkush. Ioan Glasser and Charlene Staats in the sev- enth grade G.A.C. Mrs. Carruthers also sponsors this club which meets each Tues, day afternoon. Iudy Dodge, Anette Bologna and Ioan Dearth are the other team captains.

The main purpose oi the Girls' Iunior Tennis Club, sponsored by Mrs. Carruthers, is to encourage ten- nis with beginners so that they ev- entually will be on the senior ladder. The club meets every other Tuesday and one match must be played with- in that time or the player qoes to the bottom oi the ladder. It is similar to the Senior Club in that the girls who have iaken 10 or more lessons will receive an award, the Sports' Award Assembly. ae' f 1-.----, 2. .,-,. - .4 l -- . V Tl-IE T0 P IS... The Senior Tennis Club, sponsored by Miss Lecklider, meets weekly during the semester to plan and play matches with other schools. Among their projects for the semester was their playing the boys' Senior Tennis Club. Their top players-Bet ty Werner, Sheila Boehm, Wendy Machamer.
