Ji 1, t A . 1 W. .lt- I i EQBMQQ i The Lincoln Memories is a school yearbook not only for the A-9 class, though they are featured, but for all Lincoln Stu- dents as well. The new B-7's, at the close of a strange and bewild- ering semester filled with astonishments and surprises, have their part of the Annual too--a picture for each one, and a part of this very page. By securing a Hit Parade Annual this semester they have purchased a treasure that is long to be remembered. The theme is the most important part of the Annual. It re- presents a bit of humor, a touch of brightness to liven up a page, a kind of guide to new ideas and originality. In choosing Hit Parade as a theme, the A-9's carefully compared it to other ideas. And the majority found it worthier than others because of this. The Hit Parade , the top ten pick of favorite records, represents a subject in which every Iunior High student is interested. Not only Hit Parade , but music itself, 'relieves our minds of battles, crime and the things one doesn't like to read in the newspapers. Music is a language spoken the world over. It's a product of peace and beauty. The Hit Parade theme is new and different, an idea of which the Annual Staff is proud. So far as it is known, the Hit Parade theme has never been done before. You will find, as you go through life, that many of the most valuable lessons are not found in books. It is not mathe- matics, science, foreign language or history as such that are Valuable, but only as these subjects aid in teaching you the more necessary qualities of adaptability, resourcefulness, dili- gence in Work, cheerfulness, Willingness to see all the facts, re- serving judgement until all the facts are in, and being charitable toward those who honestly hold different views from your own. These attributes are called social intelligence and are necessary if you are to be successful and happy in these modern times. N...-
