LETTERMEN Eifliii ':3,,.-:n.w-- '-r-r'+- ' A and B Letterman Bill Howard, Lee Grosscup. George Huqhley, and Duncan Ward are the team captains whose A and B letterman compete each Monday and Wednesday afternoon in football, individual sports and basketball contests. l Letters are based on attendance with football and basketball counting for a maior letter. Individual sports count for cr minor star of certificate. Mr. Steinman is club sponsor. UTY C and D Letterman The Indians. Bears, Bruins and Trojans are the four C and D Teams which compete each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon in football, basketball and individual sports. These boys generally receive tour to six inch letters. But if they show outstanding skill and make certain records, they are awarded a larger letter. Club sponsors are Mr. Delkener and Mr. Steinman.

This was the only perform- ance of the cheer-leaders, who were selected from 23 contestants by popular choice. They are lleft to rightl: Sally Arkush: Iann Car- ney: Dulcie Wilmot: Iean Carney: Mary Louise Collins: Mary Ann Rushing: Barbara Moody and Phyllis Gholson. Waving red and white pom- poms, the A9 cheerleaders led cheers for their winning A-9 team. These girls, chosen by a commit- tee of judges made up of Leader- ship class members. are leit to right: Back How: Ioyce Flink. Sheila Boehm. Nancy Adams. Raquel Sisson. Front Row: Lynne Westover. Suzanne Brenner's team cap- tured iirst place in the eighth grade G.A.C. which meets every Thursday afternoon, with Mrs. Carruthers as sponsor. Other teams competing in the tournament were: Marcia Knott's, Barbara Gi1bert's, Carmen Crum- packer's, Diane Gil1's and Shirley Wa1ker's. Q N! W Q ., ...N ut. . N... .4 Ninth Grade GJLC. Wendy Machamer, Carol Cris- ler, Barbara Moody and Molly Mclntire are the captains of the teams that play round robin tournaments each Monday after- noon. Wendy Machamer's team cap- tured iirst place honors in volley- ball with Carol Crisler's team .taking a close second. The soft- ball -'tournament proved to be quite a thriller, too. Mrs. Car- ruthers is club sponsor. P35 il I v P w -rn. :fur 1 a i i Seventh Grade GJLC. Ending in a three-way tie for first place were the teams oi Margaret Arkush. Ioan Glasser and Charlene Staats in the sev- enth grade G.A.C. Mrs. Carruthers also sponsors this club which meets each Tues, day afternoon. Iudy Dodge, Anette Bologna and Ioan Dearth are the other team captains.
