JUN IDR VARSITY FODTBALL Once again the bright spot in fall sports fell on the gridiron where the Junior Varsity made their coach. Anthony Peluso, very proud by capturing their second consecutive City League Championship. The L'il Lancersi' swept through all four of its city opponents for eight straight against City League teams in two years. They also topped Riverdale and Tuckahoe, while losing to Horace Greeley and Rye Neck in non- league action. The '4Big Game against Gorton for the city crown was decided by long Lincoln scoring plays in the first half. Sophomore star Jimmy Schlegel ran 60 yards for The members of the team are: FIRST ROW: A. Di- Chiara, K. Gentile, SanSloane, A. Herman, R. Brower, F.. Mullen, F. Rinaldi, S. Goldstein, F. Kania, L. Gaudio, R. Somack, J. Schlegel, S. Penkin, Orce, J. Gold, K. Branch, Feinberg, R. Payne, R. Sawyer. 148 the first score and a 30 yard pass play going from Frank Kania to Wlellington Sawyer accounted for the other in the 13-7 win. Stars and consistent scorers were Jim Schlegel, Frank Kania, Y'Vellington Sawyer, Billy Hudson, Bob Han- lon, Danny Golletti, Art Herman, and punter Ralph Somack. These along with present varsity stars such as Barry Sloane, Lenny Del Genio, Mike Murphy, Den O,Rourke, Chad Mears, and Bob Engle will be around to perform in varsity rolls.
