Yes sir, this was the year. The one we waited for so long. It was really the end of an era and the start of a new. We were winners. The spirit generated into every classroom and corner at LHS. Thanks to a team who were possessed with courage, skill, and a will to win. Will we ever forget Eldon Rutherford's outstanding blocking, Dave Molina's great guarding, Mike Pyrtko, an outstanding pass receiver. Mike Willis, the exciting end, Dan Hoffman--terrificcenterblocker, joe Riveria's touchdown on South, Vic Quinones saving the Holy Name game (not once but twice). John Luntcr's superior tackling, Ray Moran's fine punting, John flash Jarvis for speed, Larry Massey's fine tackling, Bob Dooley, who did a fine Job before he received an injury. Last, but not least, because he had a special place in our hearts, is Willie Avery. What can we say about wonderful Willie? For us, all we can do is remember and remember Lincoln's finest hour. 23

Students and Teachers Laugh-In Traditionally, the students and teachers at Lincoln High School join efforts to bring fun and laughter to the student body. The occasion is known as the United Appeal Drive. The drive begins each year with an assembly. This year's assembly was a Laugh-In . One of the highlights of the show was a unique soap commercial. Jimmy Avery went into the shower with Stage III and came out as Dave Molina? Anything can happen ranging from Beatniks Heryak and Santa--Emma in a wash-tub band to Jim Avery, Tim Kosierik, Mark Stoessncr and Dave McCroski impersonating acne pimples. Tania Samoyllcz helps Mark Stoessner with costume while Gran Flanders Fortey gives her advice to Announcer Kovats. Last, but not least Laugh-In presented their own Charlie Weaver who was portrayed by none other than Mr. Masck. This year we surpassed our goal in the amount of $1,924.66 or 113.2 . Are we proud? You bet we are? Look that up in that your Funk and Wagnall! 24
