JANUARY and JUNE 1964 Alma Mater Alma Mater, Alma Mater, We're in love with you. There's no other school like you. You're the fairest, you're the squarest school in all the world. Ycu insp're me through and through. Alma Mater, Alma Mater, We'll remember you. We ll remomber our friends ever true. Here s to teachers, here's to students, Here's to everyone, Lincoln High School, here's to you. MISS EVELYN MAROON The Classes of January and June, 1964, are proud and happy to dedicate this year book to Miss Evelyn Maroon, our friendly and understanding class advisor. Her character, scholarship, and leadership, and her services to Lincoln High School boys and girls have won for her an honored place in the hearis of Lincoln's students and teachers. For all these things, we thank her, and hope that we, too, may combine character, enthusiasm for work, and devotion to duty in a life of service and find true happiness in helping others. TO THE CLASSES OF JANUARY AND JUNE 1964: The play, STOP THE WORLD, I WANT TO GET OFF, has a unique title. What does it suggest to you—a fast-moving world full of pressures and chaos, or a world filled with opportunities and hidden treasures in the minds and hearts of others? There is no way to stop the world so STAY ABOARD and work with others of all races, nations, backgrounds, and traditions; learn from them and share what you have learned. Be a discontented optimist. Be unhappy about many things in the world today. Believe that working with others is the only way to improve the world and to be happy in it. STAY ABOARD. My very best wishes for your success and happiness. Guy F. Varner, Principal Assistant Principals G. Conti, L. Stoll, J. Mancini, A. Daly Guidance Counselors E. Maroon, B. Long, V. Ruscitti, D. LOPETTA SaJPECR g repo ms g SHARoN ELDNKODSOnJ Last Will and Testament BON VOYAGE! ! ! The January Class of 1964 is leaving Lincoln and will take an extended trip of the luxury liner “U.S.S. World of Adventure.” After 12 years of planning and preparation these graduates feel that they deserve a rest. Because there is a limited baggage area on the ship, each and every traveler is forced to leave something behind. George Clappas decided to leave 44 pounds of sheet music that he can't read. George should have used this music for the class Christmas party, instead he played modern jazz. Seventeen extra bows and nineteen ribbons (all red and white of course) are being donated to the June class by Judy Alberino. Vera Golubows is leaving 46 baby pictures (still unarranged) on the bulletin board in the main hall- Bob Anderson proudly leaves a pair of battered dancing shoes that he used so effectively at the Senior Mixer and Informal. Helen Griveas is leaving the student driving car in one piece—isn’t that something? Hans Farkas is burning 87 pages of last minute homework that he didn't finish. 92 empty cans of hair spray remain in room 310 by will of Sue Zygadlo. Carol Kaput leaves behind 64 extra class lists and 32 constitutions. Helen Fes . Faith Hardwick. Bob Kaznoch. and Bob Nakoneczny have collected four lockers full of Junk” that they hope to pass on to susceptible 7Bs. Pam Herwick leaves an airline stewardess uniform behind, she won’t need it on board this ship. John Kalemba is leaving his mittens, Mike Demchuk his muddy tennis shoes, and Don Myers his filthy sweat shirt and pants. All these required materials weren't enough to keep them warm during gym class. Herb Patterson vowed that he’d leave nothing behind, but upon leaving he forgot his suitcase, wallet, passport and almost everything else he hoped to take with him. Alan Gibbons leaves behind that doggone dog he let into school one day. A receipt book. $937.46 in paid bills, and unbalanced books are relinquished to the June Class Treasurer by Dominic Cristino. Stow-aways on this luxury liner are Jerry Gaul, Don Miner. John Sydorenko and Bill Ownbey; they used their last twelve dollars for class dues. JoAnn Sima must leave behind 37 Vote for JoAnn signs, reminiscent of the Athletic Queen competition. Unused plans for a skating party and an afternoon of toboganing are given up by Gloria Grove and Loretta Supeck. Palettes, paint brushes and models are left bySteve Kynyk and Steve Wartko to anyone who might use them correctly! Larisa Scliaposchnic takes with her a fluency in Spanish, but leaves behind her long, long playing record of Spanish musical masterpieces. To all chatter-boxes, Sharon Kdmoiison. Ellen Nickler. Tom Gutridge. Tom Ciclinski and Cas-mir Janas relinquish their quiet manner. Mike Tischler leaves behind his choir robe, guitar, and the piano he didn't learn to play, however he will take with him his bellowing voice. Lyn Kegalski and Judy Rollins leave behind their poise and graciousness to any worthy fumbling freshmen. Diana Mosberger and Margaret Mulhern give their places in the lunch line to any Junior who can run as fast as they can. An envelope and a totaling sheet are left by-Carmen Ramos for the next homeroom representative to collect for the school’s worthwhile funds. Darlene Lisy leaves behind all the big words she was unable to figure out. The clothing room finds a dress with 3 sleeves left by Joan Grajewski. A new page plan, a few headlines and bylines. a bent em. ruler, a gavel, three over used speeches, 14 campaign signs, and this last will and testament are all left by Jerry Yurch. Class Prophecy Upon leaving the stage after commencement, the members of the Senior Class zigged when they should have zagged, and found themselves in a revolting development. Their predicament was this: Members of the stage craft group had constructed a time machine in the basement of the auditorium. Because the class made a wrong turn at the bottom of the stairs, everyone was put into position to be affected by this fiendist invention. At this point a member of the corps of inventors turned a dial: “Future— 30 years”, then plugged it in. In five minutes, when the experiment was done, STEVE KYNYK walked out an accomplished structural engineer and architect. He feels proud because he has just completed a 36-floor, ranch-type, split-level TV relay station overlooking Death Valley. JOAN GRAJEWSKI became a dress-maker, and is well known for her three sleeved masterpieces. When asked what he’d get for the bold mural he just painted over the first six floors of the Erieview Tower, STEVE WARTKO replied “10 to 20 . — Wonder what he meant!? ALAN GIBBONS has opened a night club on Euclid Ave. and as his first act employed GEORGE CLAPPAS and his Six Greek Home-wreckers . HANS FARKAS has just invented something the entire world has been waiting for—a threewheeled xpnoestmy! MIKE DEMCHUK and JERRY GAUL are working the night shift at a candle factory. TOM GUTHIDGE just sold a $150,000 accident Insurance policy to BOB ANDERSON. Bob has a job inspecting the pins in grenades. VERA GOLUBOWS is a driving instructor and HELEN GRTVEAS has finally passed her driver's test. MICHAEL TISCHLER is at the Met for the second month, and they say he’s the best aisle attendant they've ever had. Crossword Puzzles with fifty cent words arc being composed for the local newspapers by DARLENE LISY.. JERRY YURCH says business is dead, so he’s offering a new special this week—ask him about it. GI.ORIA GROVE has become an actress—with a name like that she had to! Hair stylist SUE ZYGADLO was fixing ELLEN NICKLER’S hair when she was held up by DON MYERS. Fortunately inspector JOHN SYDORENKO was on hand, and he took the case to Judge CASMIR JANAS. Casmir let him off with a small fine and a long lecture, but gave him 30 years for wise?cracking the judge! Right at home (still at Lincoln) are DON MINER and BOB NAKONECZNEY. They became high school instructors—for spite. JUDY ALBERINO and SHARON EDMONSON were judges in the “Irman La Douce Pooch” contest and T.ORETTA SUPECK'S prize poodle won the first place blue ribbon. JOANN SIMA is showing off her Olympic medal for cheering to PEGGY MULHERN and FAITH IIARDWICK These three gals happened to meet at TOM CIELINSKI’S grocery store because he had a special on JOHN KALEMBA'S ready made halupkey ... or is it halupchy? Meanwhile back at the ranch LARISA SCHA-POSCHNIC is looking over her many oil fields in Venezuela—they're all dry. PAMELA HERWICK is secretary to the president of American Airlines. She never did get any use out of that airline hostess uniform. That well-known novelist DOMINIC C.RIS-TINO has just written another best-seller. Just Call Me Dom. BILL OWNBEY'S department store now has a sale on the famous LYN REGAT.SKI dill. Lyn starred in the recent motion picture about dance artist JUDY ROLLINS. The picture was produced and directed by CAROL KAPUT. Co-starring with Lyn are CARMEN RAMOS and ROBERT KAZNOCH. DIANA MOSBERGER has just won 84 thousand dollars with a sweepstakes ticket she found in HERBERT PATERSON'S taxi. HELEN FESZ aad a nervous breakdown it was her lost ticket. Social Committee Commencement Committee Color Motto Flower ATHLETIC DANCE 19$ On January 22, 1964 at Commencement exercises in the school auditorium Lincoln High School graduated 46 young men and women. After the invocation given by Rev. Bucey of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, Carol Kaput and Hans Farkas were heard speaking on The Nucloar Challenge to Youth . Mr. Guy F. Varner, Principal, certified the class after which Mr. Daniel O. Corrigan, Board of Education representative presented the diplomas.
