TO THE CLASSES OF JANUARY AND JUNE, 1962: George Matthew Adams, in his essay “Look Ahead,” says: “It is what you are today that counts! Yesterday is merely a part of the road that leads through today—to tomorrow. We must be interested only in how we walk over the path today.” How will you walk todays path? You will walk it with confidence and courage if you have learned the three R's of maturity and modern life: 1. Responsibility: Can you assume it? 2. Reliability: Can you be relied upon? 3. Worth noting” musically is Tenor NICK Sl’HODOLSKY who leaves his choir robe to future members. “Most Likely to Succeed” is the title given to anyone who can follow in XENOPHON GRIVEAS’ steps. “How to Be a Mechanic in 10 Easy Lessons' is the legacy of DENNIS FLETCHER to all persons interested. Queen candidate, NANCY CIICRKO leaves her place in the royal court to future candidates. “Left guard”, “right guard”, and “fullback” are the positions that DENNIS JONES. FRANK KECK, and RUDY GABA respectively will vacate for anyone who can fill their shoes. EARL CHEVALIER and STANLEY OLEN-IACZ will leave their positions as the heaviest printers in the class. MARIA KORCZOWSKA will let anyone fill her shoes” as having the longest hair in the class, while ILSE KUGRENS will leave her bubble hair-cut to anyone who will blow a bigger bubble. BILL COX reluctantly gives up the shortest last name in the class. Having the most delicious name will be turned over by LARRY RICE! A trumpet, a saxaphonc and clarinet won t be sounded in school any more by NOR BET RITZMANN. DIOR SYWANYK. and KEN TAKAYAMA. ED KISIL gives up his seat to any boy or girl who proves they are sleepier than he. JERRY GANCI will leave his hair to anyone who will clean pots and pans with it. CONRAD ROSCHIVAL will step down as the “hot-rodder” of the Senior set. PAUL KRUGER will leave his math books to anyone who takes advanced math. Vacating his typewriter for the Log will be TOM KALLA. NANCY SCHULER will gladly let anyone take over her post as chairman of the Social Committee. ROSEMARIE FARKAS will give up her gavel as vice-president of the class. IRENE KOSTRYK steps down as one of the speakers at commencement. RON GAUL. ED HARPER and BILL LEDGER will their right to turn off the lights on the stage. Sense of humor and personality are a couple of things BONNIE BAILLIE will be relinquishing to next year s winners of these two categories. Another category, service, will be given up by ROSE MARIE BECK. RICH MULHERN will be giving his first floor tollcnte chair to any capable person. Leaving their post on the color committee will be GERRI BILCZO and ANN RIBOVICH. Leaving her scissors and sewing machine will be VAL HAROCH. TINA SKRYL and DALE SOMMER, co-chairmen, to receive instructions pertaining to the reunion of the Lincoln graduates of June. 1962. We are to be dispatched immediately so as to provide means of escort. Having received our instructions we are rushed to the airport by taxi driver RON REES. Upon arrival we are greeted by stewardesses JEANNE ROBACK. DONNA ROBERTS and MARY STEFANIUK. Our pilot and co-pilot are BILL PAVLUS and TOM SCHARF. respectively. The rest of the crew consists of radio operators DAN BODI and JOHN RA-KITYAN, engineers BOB SUNYAK. JOE MARTIN and TED KASEL. In charge of the flight is Sgt. MICHELE SARGENT, naturally. Once we enter the craft we heave a sigh of relief (SIIIGHHH) for our search is lessened by three as we spy JANET PORCELLO. JACKIE MAYERNIK and BARBARA SKWA-RA feverishly working in the galley. As we reach our first destination. England, we notice that distinguished Admiral of the entire British Navy. Sir HERMAN MORGAN (related to Morgan, the pirate). A short distance away wc observe KAY IIALLADAY and CHRISTINE HIGGS quaintly slurping (slurp, slurp) tea in the Boston Tea Party Shop. Proceeding with our mission we come across “Queen for the Day” JANIS BUTTOLPH IVIII, being escorted by Prime Minister VICKI SMITH. We are fortunate to witness the struggle between that notoriously crooked criminal RICHARD NAILL and bobbies. CHRIS JAMES and DARLENE PERRY. The skirmish ends with Naill getting hit on the head. All of a sudden a Rolls Royce, with a screeching of brakes, smashes into a telephone, and crawling out of the vehicle is JACKIE WILLIAMS. This adds up to her sixth smashup of the week and today is only Tuesday, but she cares not, for after all, doesn't she own the Rolls Royce Corporation Company Incorporated? Our next stopover en route is Ireland. The very first thing our eyes fall upon (plop) is that immortal trio. JIM BOWEN. JIM HL'FF and JIM McCOMAS. the only people in Ireland who celebrate St. Patrick's Day all year round. Proof of when Irish eyes are smiling” are ED CAMPBELL. DAN GILLROY and JERRY RAMEY, who celebrate St. Patrick's Day only half year round (and sleep the other half). Campbell, by the way, came out with a new soup called Cloverleaf Delight. Professionals at performing the Irish jig are GLORIA ALLISON and JOANN BETTS, while in business teaching a modified version of a half-twisted twist are LEONA BUSIN -GER. PAT WOODSIDE and LINDA WEST, who recently returned from the East. Desperately chasing several Irish setters are dog catchers PAT DeLUCA and JOAN FUGATE who must retrieve them lest KATHLEEN LYNCH them Upon entering the largest public library in Ireland we trip across the outstretched legs of that distinguished figure of the literary field. TERRY McLAUGHLIN. reading a comic book We are informed by Terry that KATHY GERBER has been expanding her realm of baby goodies to Ireland. Social worker DIANE CURRAN was pedaling by when the three-wheeled contraption that she drove. LEE HECKATIIOKNE'S out-modeled idea of an automobile, suffered a break in the chain drive. Luckily KATHY McCAR-RY came by in a buggy pulled by her donkey, spurred on by the singing voice of her companion. FRED McINTYRE. Bringing our search in Ireland to a close we meet BONNY MAHON, who is willing to ccme back with us from flying over the ocean. Traveling onward to Scotland we find SANDY IIIGGINS and JULIE WOYCITZKY at the bagpipes expertly teaching beginners how to master the art of playing that musical bag of wind. We also find PHIL YOUNG who enjoys his country on the rocks. Taking a few minutes out for a short stop (4 min.. 37 sec. to be exact) in sunny Spain wc are greeted by senoritas HELEN and MARY RAMOS, proprietors of the Ramos and Ramos Tortilla and Tamale Pepper Shop. While viciously exercising our jaws on a few free samples, which we take when they aren't looking, we bump into VIC ROSSELI.O (sending us staggering backward). We observe, as we slowly get up, that he is in mortal combat with a bull, which in reality is not a combat at all, but merely a race with Vic so far in the lead. Picking up Vic. we look forward to reaching France. Upon arriving we hear a loud ruckus and rush to Investigate. It turns out that it’s nothing less than BILL BELANGER, attempting to start a revolution against the aristocracy. He claims that the nobility consisting of PENNY EGGLESTON deprives him of watching the late, late Mickey Mouse Show. Resuming our schedule we head for Germany. No sooner do we land than we are investigated by the new Gestapo, consisting of JOHN BENDER. PAUL EGING and TOM JOHNSTON. After a routine check-up we learn the reason lies in that a fourth Reich is being organized. We are told that the leading officers are HOWARD BRAUN. LF.ROY CUTSHAW. CARL KRANTZ and FRED MINKE. The master-mind of this newly-developed group is that infamous, incomparable, sneaky schnook EARL FAUI.IIAMMER. His right-hand man. JIM SMITH (probably an alias) is the owner of the organization's hideout, the Wienorschnitzel Hut. This Wienerschnitzel Hut is kept up by Wiener MARCY BAUMAN and Schnitzel PEGGY COON (without either of them there would be no Wienerschnitzel). Just as wc plan to depart, we run into some luck, for ARLENE CROSS. NANCY HAYPURN and ARLENE HORTON are just returning from a visit to Holland with BETTY JO EALY and BEVERLY HALE. (She reports the weathers fine.) Seeing as this bit of luck saves us a trip and some time, we decide to have a few mugs of beer over at JANET KIEFER’S Tavern with RUTH ZISS and CHARLES HEID-RICK for company, I think dis Goimen beer iz pretty goot. yah! Before departing for Yugoslavia we manage to pick up Warden WALLY S1TARZ. who is in charge of Prisons for the Advancement of Prisoner.-.. We swoop through Yugoslavia to board GEORGE PAVLOVICH, slip and slide across Greece, snagging LEON LAVDAS. and wind up in a bakery in Bohemia operated by ALAN ROIILIK and LADDIE VANA. We disembark from our plane in Austria and MIKE RI'ZICHO joins our ranks. We decide to cross the Alps on elephants into Italy. Coming down the gentle slopes of northern Italy we trample through FRAN GALLO'S vineyards. Despite our well-established friendship she calls on MIKE CIANCIOLA. DOMENIC BELLOMO and TOM LaMANNA to chase us out of her domain. Being thus pursued and out of breath (gasp, gasp) we nearly run smack Into a runaway pizza being chased by HERMAN GRAZIOLLI. After refreshing ourselves we see that we can't linger any longer and must continue on to Poland. Landing in Warsaw, Poland, we arc greeted by Mayor TOM MANDRYK who is good enough to offer us a descriptive guide tour. The first place we are led is the Uni- versity of Warsaw where we meet our acquaintances. Professors LARRY BERNACKI. LEONARD CHAIGAN. KEN SEKl’NDA and BOB WASACZ. We are next driven to one of Poland's largest dairy farms, owned by KATHY JESIO-LOWSKI. Her foreman. ROGER SPURLOCK, giving in to our pleas, decides to demonstrate the wonder of the modern day, the mechanical cow. During the demonstration, however, the cow suffers indigestion and has a mechanical breakdown. Mechanics CHARLES KRENCIK. KEN NODGE and JOYCE COFFEE quickly repair the damage (now the cows produce orange juice). Proceeding further we are conducted through the Potsdam Steel Mills owned jointly by DIANE DREWNIAK. JIM FLOWERS and KAY LUTCH. Time not permitting we end our tour. Realizing we are hungry we head for the nearest restaurant, which happens to be operated by JI'LIANNE MATERNA and DIANE TRZCIN-SKI. Getting seated we spot SANDY WAN-ICKI. CHARLES PROSE and JOAN SHELLA. who gleefully join our group. Having trouble getting through the Iron Curtain, even with the help of RICH CHAM-RYK’S blow torch and RON JAKEMER'S sledge hammer, we see no other alternative but to apply for the aid of the IRENE MOLCHANOV and VAL NATOCIIY Intricate Spy Network Co. With the aid of TINA SZUST. ambassador from the US. to Russia, we get permits to observe Russia's salt mine operations. Being restricted to where we go and what we see, we get a feeling that we are unwelcome. Everywhere we go we feci that eyes are on our backs (moist and heavy). As we scurry through the woods, returning from the salt mines, we spot SANDY WULFF hunting wolves with her how and arrows. Again coming to our rescue, the Intricate Spy Network sneaks us back out safely and we take off for Svria. where we pick up CHARLES JOSEPH and NAHIDEH AMRA. who operate a camel farm. They are also joint owners in the Oily Oil Industry. Leaving that part of the world we fly to Australia where KAREN BALOGII breeds kangaroos and a neighbor of hers. DENNIS WOJTON. operates a rabbit farm. Time waning, the first signs of excitement ripple through our group. We depart across the wide, blue Pacific. Suddenly, the engines sputter (cough, sputter) and the plane starts a downward descent. Looking for the cause of the trouble, GEORGE SOBBOTA notices the gas gauge reads empty. The plane makes an emergency landing at an uncharted island. As the fates may have willed it. this island is owned by OLEH SHAP- OWAL. who informs us that this is a self-sufficient haven for retired millionaires. We find ROSEMARY SZEPIWDYCZ and DONA WOLANSKY basking jn the sun on the beach. In charge of the island's food distribution is IL1JA GAWRILOW. Satisfying the islands thirst desires is ANDREW SIRKOVSKI’s Playboy Key Club We find SIIARYN STAUFERT directing the operation of the amusement parks, as we go for a few rides. (As though we haven't been on enough.) Though retired, the group continues to mess around (like little kids) in its laboratories, headed by CHARLES TERKL’N. trying to figure out what makes the world tick. Switching to one of the island planes we say goodbye to this island paradise and head for the United States (with plenty of gas). Approaching San Francisco, we realize our clothes have become rather soiled and decide that we shall take them to KEN JUNG’S Chinese Laundry, which is the largest and best in the world. Attending the championship boxing fight, while in San Francisco, we watch as JOE KOVACH and RON AUGUSTINE slug It out for the title. Deciding to take the underground railroad. owned by JUNE ELLIS and ANTOINETTE KARPINSKI. we head for Oklahoma where ARVELL LANE and CLARA MASSEY are in charge of an Indian reservation. Running out of time we send a telegram to the President's secretary, MARGE MARECZ, informing her to invite the President and Secretary of State LUIS LUGO, to attend our reunion. Hurrying for ‘Home. Sweet Home we are warmly greeted upon arrival by JEANNETTE COOPER. CATHY FORSTH OFFER. ROSEMARY IIANDLOVICS. HELEN PAW-LIW and ANNA TROCHEMENKO. The reunion is to be held in JANET SUTTEES’ hotel Entering to see if preparations are ready, we see ROSEMARY RAMSEY. CHERYL SMYTH. ANGIE Sl’MMA. MADELINE TORRES. VAL SZYTEC. K A AREN TOTH. Satisfied that our job has been well done, we decide to go home and take a nap so we can be relaxed for the night s festivities.
