LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT Having come to the stark realization that our high school days are about to expire, we, the January class of 1961, hasten to make known our Last Will and Testament. To our homeroom teachers and class advisors, we give thanks for the preparations, plans, and perils they helped us through during our senior year. Conscientiousness is left to underclassmen by Bill Stasz, Larry Witnlk. Sophie Toriskie, Le-dema Means, Louis Dovilla, and John Doran who often studied in study hall. To those not as quick at dictation, high-geared cflicicncy is left by JoAnnc Lukas, an old hand at shorthand. Problem-probing Pablo Alvarez leaves his studious manner to less diligent pupils. Radio operator Clayton Cookson, a “sound” engineer, bequeaths his audio ability in the radio room. Leaving a menagerie to future zoo collectors arc James Starnes. Paul Paeth. and Dave Re-hula, nicknamed “Ant”. “Animal”, and .‘Flea”, respectively. Superior students Barbara Domino ar.d Lora Jean O’Mailia entrust their conscientiousness to those in need of same. Artist Karl Feierabend leaves his ability to be quick on the draw. Her majesty, Nancy Zubal, leaves the royal throne to next year’s athletic queen. Bongo-banger Tony Nicholas leaves his drum-thumping talents to the percussionist at next year’s senior mixer. Marie Komarek, production manager for the senior play, bequeaths her ability to handle show business. Martin Novak gives his last name to Nancy Novak, who gives her last name to Martin Novak. Best Dressed Beatnik” Noreen Kubene relinquishes the ingenuity which she used to devise her prize-winning costume at the senior mixer. “Word-wise” Shirley Sima offers a sentence to any future Log reporter. The vice-presidency of the senior class is left by Sandra Larca. just for a lark. Conversationalist Norman Celznick leaves a few parting words. Being a good sport about the whole thing, Bill Cliupil leaves the football team, the baseball team, and the track team. Lynn Cykalo, Vera Demianenko, Barbara Zander, and Fmile Wisniewski, relinquish their positions on the flower committee to younger budding talents. With scores to spare, Ron Courey leaves the Varsity Bowling Team. Jackie Galaida leaves the underclassmen the magic power she acquired as Merlin the Magician in the play, “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court . Colorful memories arc bequeathed to forthcoming seniors by Audrey Gresko. Beverly Hal-lauer, and Judy Thesling. members of the class-color committee. Motto jitters Del Cross. Bernie Ziegler, and Pat Gannon leave the senior motto committee in quotation marks. Three vacant scats in the Student Council are presented to worthy successors by Carol Maguire. James Goletr itis, and Donna Shank. Gymnast Jim Solary bequeaths to ill-coordi-nated underclassmen his agility in athletics. A full schedule of extra-curricular activities is bestowed upon some sedulous soon-to-be seniors by Rosalie Yondrak. Linguist Barbara Suttles relinquishes to her successor the honor of receiving the Spanish medal. Being the last name on the alphabetical class listing is the special honor Carol Zychowski bestows upon the person in the same position in forthcoming classes. Two spots on the Decathlon Team are left open for vacancy by Mike Wojdacz and Ray Scgcrt. “Mickey Rooney bestows his place in the band upon some lucky underclassman. Mickey Rooney” is the pseudonym of Bill L'fTman. Traffic jam participation in Lincoln's corridors is the activity most happily left to younger students by Don Walaszek. Dennis Scfcck, and Mary Reiman. Darlene Mackey leaves everyone wondering how she acquired the nickname, “Linus . Less volume is left to the A Cappella Choir by graduating members Joyce Laughlin. Russell Milan. Glenda Phipps, and Betty Sue Wiggins. The well-known track shoes of Ken Klocck and Charles Shamhlin are bequeathed to future track team trotters. Louis Knutis bestows his acting prowess upon the next young actor to have a lead role in the senior play. Reel” buddies John Mishko and Harry Mitchell bequeath their positions as movie operators in the Sixteen Mills club to succeeding members. Bandages and gauze, iodine and antiseptic are granted to those who follow Pearl Nesgada in the Future Nurses Club. Prominent pupil John Frick leaves the brooding underclassmen a charming sense of humor. Managing the Varsity basketball team is the task left to some fortunate fellow by Bert Rie-gelmayer. Multiple memberships in school organizations and superior scholastic achievement is offered underclassmen with initiative by Jackie Roback. Robert Havlatko and Arnold Truppo relinquish positions in both the band and orchestra to musically-minded students. Victoria Alton, a school spirit award winner, bequeaths some of the same to listless underclassmen. Pretty pin poppers Gail Montanello and Lois Nagy relinquish their positions on the Girls’ Bowling Team to those on the ball. Ken Knish bequeaths a white football uniform. a red choir robe, and the nickname, Pinky, to anyone who follows in his footsteps. Bob Filkins, class president, leaves the class. Sure Class Prophecy HEAR YE, HEAR YE: I, your school crier, in this year of our Lord 1975, do hereby proclaim loudly and clearly, what the future has held for our 1961 graduates. After many months of intensive research, here is what our crier has uncovered. Television station I.C.U.’s top disc jockey, Arnold Truppo. is spinning the latest hit of the new singing sensations, The Four Presidents,” I.ouis Koutis. Russell Milan, Ken Knish, and James Starnes. Across the street at the world famous John Doran Theater, playwright Ronald Courey's latest comedy, The Life and Times of Louis Dovilla”, starring the inimitable comedy duo of John Frick and William FfTman is completing its third consecutive year. Del Cross, head drama critic of the Imperial Times Review, gives much credit for its success to the bizarre stage settings of Dennis Scf-cek and his assistant. Mike Wojdacz. FLASH! A communique has just come in from the desk of the sports editor. Bill Chupil, that the newly formed professional basketball team, “The Lincoln Globe Trotters.” has won its first game. High scorers on the team are Bert Riegelmaycr. Bill Stasz. and Don Walaszek. An air mail special delivery letter has just been delivered by postman Larry YVitnik from the famous world traveler, Dr. Pablo Alvarez, postmarked from deepest dark Africa. With his two trusty interpreters, Barbara Domino and Barbara Suttles, he has joined the safari of the “Great White Hunter , Bob Filkins. We are disturbed to hear that his faithful rifle bearer, Ken Klocek, has been stung by a bumble bee and is now recuperating at the Barbara Zander Hospital in Johannesburg. Meanwhile in Paris, Joyce Laughlin. renowned dress designer, has just presented her spring creations. Top model Kay Phipps and Beverly Hallauer were among those who purchased their new wardrobes. Wardrobe mistress, Pearl Nesgada. was also at one of Miss Laughlin’s showings to get ideas for a forthcoming movie starring Marie Kom-arek. Up north in Sweden a jet plane piloted by Emile Wisniewski has just landed. The stewardess. Mary Reiman, opens the door and out steps Dr. David Reliula who has come to receive the Nobel Prize in medicine. The young girl rushing through the crowd with pad in hand, is cub reporter Carole Maguire. During the ensuing interview Dr. Rchula gives much credit to his receptionist Carol Zychowski and his nurse Lora Jean O'Mailia. On the same plane is Miss Audrey Grcsko, authoress of the newest book on infant care entitled “Oh! to Be a Child Again.” Back in the United States Gail Montanello opening a new beauty shop. She has hired Lynn Cykalo. Darlene Mackey, and Donna Shank as operators. Miss Montanello is hoping against hope that the present Mrs. America, Shirley Sima, will become one of her steady customers. Norman Celznick is manager of a new service station. Ray Segert is the head mechanic and as an experiment they have hired women attendants, Ledema Means, I.ois Nagy, and Nancy Novak. Elementary school teachers, Norccn Kubene and Sophie Torlskle, appreciate the services given here. linguist Jackie Roback and her assistant Pat Gannon have collaborated on a dictionary of office terms. Private secretaries Rosalie Von-drak, Betty Sue Wiggins, and Sandra Larca have found it most useful. Vera Demianenko has begun a bowling team. Jackie Galaida rolled the first perfect game. James “Always on Time” Golematis, bank clerk, is taking lessons in baton twirling at the Judy Thesling Baton Twirling school. He feels that this is an excellent leisure time activity. Others taking the same course are Nancy Zubal and JoAnnc Lukas. At the Tony Nicholas grocery store, James Solary is found buying a giant size tube of tooth paste. Spanish teacher, Paul Taeth. is found buying a can of hot tomales. In the reference room of the library head librarian, Charles Shamblin, is locating a book on the history of jazz for Robert Haviatko. Brushing up on history are John Mishko and Bernie Ziegler. Filling prescriptions for Vickie Alton and Martin Novak is pharmacist, Earl Feierabend. Stopping at the soda fountain is radio and television commentator. Clayton Cookson, who orders a double malted from counterman. Harry Mitchell. Thus, I have shown that the class of January 19(51 has been scattered to all corners of the earth.
