For some it was a time of recognition, awards, and fulfillment. Some struggled through with heart break and disappointment. No matter how it was survived, this year left its impression on each of us. And just as important, each of us added something to the school memory. Maybe you can find your memory as we go. . . Trackin’ Through LHS I? School Officials-Head of the Pack Mr. Wiley has been our Superintendent here for six years. He was born in 1921 and raised in Hollis, Ark. He attended school in Perryville, Ark. A daughter, Sharon Janice Wiley, 28 and Jimmy Charles Wiley, 29. They have one granddaughter, Jessica Robin, 2. Mr. Wiley says his greatest responsibility is the finances and overall administration of the school. He thinks the biggest improvement since he has been at LHS is being accepted as a member of the NCA of Secondary Schools and Colleges. He says NCA is very important because it will make for a better school program for the students. It also sets higher standards for the students who graduate from an NCA school. Mr. Wiley has been in the Public Schools in Ark. for thirty years and plans to move to Fort Smith after he We have a new principal this year. His name is Mr. Jerry Moody. Jack Norton, Pres., Bob Munyon, Bill Bush, Jr., Roger Pitts, and Carole Swope. ; School Board Works Hard To Make LHS a Better School Our School Board has been working hard this year for the betterment of our school. The thing that is noticeable is the football field. They have provided us with new bleachers, a very nice pressbox, scoreclock, etc. They have also repaired the Agri. building and put a fence around the tennis courts. In education they have helped our school receive the NCA accreditation. We also have a full-time assistant principal and more classroom teachers. They have also provided us with new equipment in many departments, new buses, and much more. We would like to thank them very much for their help. Vice-Principal Our new vice-principal is Mr. Donald Watkins. For the past six years he had taught at Concord, Arkansas. There he taught business, social studies, and coached football. Mr. Watkins and his wife, Beverly, moved to Lincoln at the beginning of the school year. Although faced with the often difficult job of vice-principal, Mr. Watkins indicated that he likes it here in Lincoln. Mr. Watkins has a Bachelor Degree from U of A at Monlicello, a Master's Degree from Arkansas State University, and is presently working on his Specialist Degree. Senior High Football “Sr. 79” During most years at most schools a 4-6 record would probably not be anything to really be proud of, but 1 feel we accomplished a great deal during the season. Winning and losing are habits like so many other things, and what you do on Friday night is really what you are accustomed to doing. The senior football team had no winning tradition to build upon and we literally had to start from the beginning to build up a program. 1 do hope the seniors are happy with what they have do for they did provide the leadership needed to win and be productive. The 3 losses the Wolves suffered were by total of 15 points which indicated how well the team performed. The young men had set many goals both for the team and individ- ually and many were attained. The team had a fine season with Wally Andrade reaching the 1000 yard rushing mark in only 8 games.
