THE 28 th VOLUME OF WOLF TRACKS 1974 Presents MEMORIES ARE MADE OF... LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL LINCOLN, ARKANSAS DEDICATION Miss Janet Broaddrick We, the annual staff of 1973-74, proudly dedicate our “Wolf Tracks” to Miss Janet Broaddrick. Miss Broaddrick has taught math and social studies at Lincoln for tliree years. She graduated from Van Buren High School and from Arkansas Tech at Russellville. Miss Broaddrick not only gives her enthusiasm to the teaching profession but goes far beyond the call of duty. She is always present at school functions regardless of the ages involved or the distance that she has to travel. It is with great admiration and appreciation that we dedicate this hook to Miss Janet Broaddrick. MEMORIES ARE MADE OF HOMECOMINGS Coach Polsgrove planned the homecoming victory over Winslow. The Sr. High Marching Band played for homecoming festivities. Sr. High Queen Kathey Page got a homecoming kiss from Ken Yates. I’he first Jr. Court of Honor Queen was Miss Sandy Samples. With the help of our Counselor, Mr. Baxter, the top four girls in seventh and eighth grades; along with the top six girls in the ninth grade were placed on a ballot. This ballot was presented to the faculty members of the junior high. The faculty chose two girls from seventh and eighth grades and three girls from the ninth grade. These girls are the Court of Honor. The queen was elected by the junior high student body. The ballot contained the names of the ninth grade maids. FOOTBALL SEASON SENIOR GIRLS’ BASKETBALL This was a remarkable group which fulfilled all that was expected of them and more, and the end result was extremely gratifying. They won 19 and lost only 7 and gathered first place trophies in the West Fork and Greenland Invitational Tournaments. Every person shown in this picture played a role in this winning season. However, some shined more than others. Karen Osborn was named to the County, West fork, and Greenland loumament team, while Colleen Scott was named to the West Fork and Greenland All Tournament teams. Marsha Pharr was named to the All County team and was voted the “Outstanding Player Award” in the Greenland tournament. Debbie Abshire and Deborah Haggard were the team managers. Marsha Pharr Colleen Scott Karen Osborn Cindy Thomas 75 JUNIOR GIRLS' BASKETBALL This group of girls was a first year group and the first junior high team Lincoln has had in many years. This group played the game hard hut clean and always on the upward path. The record of this team was not great. However, the talent was present and success is to come in the near future. Lisa Parker led the Wolf pack by gaining All Tourna- ment honors in the County and Elkins Invitational tournaments. Debbie Price was named as a guard to the County team. This group did not hang their heads,, nor did they complain. They walked out of each game with their heads held high and determined not to descend into the low valley of depression. They were determined to strive for the goal of reaching their ultimate potential and to become the stars of the senior teams in the future. Rhonda Allen Laura McGoodwin Carol McAdams Dian McDonald 78 Kathy Seward Lata Parker Teresa Mckinny Michelle McKinny Sue Heed Rhonda Robinson Margie Swake 79 SENIOR BOYS’ BASKETBALL The Senior high Wolves of 1973-74 were a group of young men with a “blood and guts” attitude and determination. It was really a pleasure to work with a group of this type. We had a good leadership from our three seniors—Ken Yates, Mike Yates and Curt Roberts, and all the support possible from the rest of the group. Three words can sum up this year’s team—“we try harder.” When you give a good effort, you win although you might get outscored. Good job men. Coach Mainer The team managers were Barry Crudup and Jim Crim. Curt Robert Mike Y ate Ken Y ate 80 Leonard Cox Ricky West Ricky Camp Steven Cox Steve Danforth A 81 Kevin Parker SCENES FROM SR. BOYS’SEASON V 20 JUNIOR BOYS’ BASKETBALL The Lincoln Junior high team was a good group of ballplayers. They had good height, ability, an l brains and played really fine basketball. The only thing that was missing was the number of games of experience they had under their belts. This group will be a good nucleus for basketball of the future at Lincoln High School. Tim Coleman was not present when this picture was taken. The team managers were Barry Crudup and Jim Grim. We did not plan it this way but due to an unfortunate mistake it happened. At the beginning of the school year, we were all set to have a separate Wolf Cubs yearbook. However, the elementary pictures were lost at the processor’s and arrived too late to meet the first deadline. Therefore, we are proud to include you in the W olfe Tracks, but we never would have placed you last under any other circumstances.
