The council also helped plan the King County Traffic Safety Conference. Other activities included initiating a firearms safety training course, distributing accident checklists to students and faculty members who drove cars, and sponsoring a hunting safety campaign featuring a giant yel- low hunter in the main hall. It is pri- marily concerned with orienting the incoming sophomores to the principals of good citizenship at Lincoln High. The Board supervises the spring assemblies put on at the junior high schools. lt is available to help out on all school campaigns. The chairman is lanet Talcott and the vice- chairman is lay lman. The other four members are: Don Price, Boys' Club Rep.g Eva Carls, Girls' Club Repg Valdean Sears, Triple L Rep., and Kathy Ruthtord, Sophomore Rep. lVlr. lra lVliller has been the advisor of the Board since it began in 1956. The meetings are held whenever necessary during third period in the Conference Room.

Rlltt UUUNCIL Roll Council, under the leadership ot Walt Jule, Student Council Vice-President, per- formed many helpful services to the school. Roll Council was used by several organiza- tions in the handling of school drives, one ot which was the sale of activity cards. Roll Competition was formed to stimulate rolls to bigger and better activity. The first Roll Council Handbook, which served as a source ot reference for new Council members, was put out this year. Shirley Osborn and lulie Hill, Student Coun- cil secretaries, also acted as secretaries for Roll Council. Agenda Committee, headed by Bill Beck in the tall semester and lerry Tuttle in the spring semester, prepared an agenda tor each Roll Council meeting. Here, Marie Allard, chairman, is seen with some ot her committee members. Honor Society is the only organization in Lincoln High School which is based on students' academic standings. A sophomore Honor Society student receives a pin with one bar on it, and juniors receive a pin with two bars. Senior members wear the torch pin, which is the emblem of Honor Society. All these are temporary, having to be returned at the end of the year, but graduating honor students receive a permanent Torch pin. This year a special certificate ot Honor Society was intro- duced.
