Hazel McCaskill Adv Bud St avney Pres. Donna Newell V.PFeS Lucie Haugstad Sec Jerry Newgard Treas. THE SPIRIT OF LINCOLN LEAVES THE PAST AND LOOKS TO THE FUTURE SENIOR OFFICER PAGE CLASS HISTORY Entering in the fall of 19U7, the class of 1951 was exposed to the traditions and moods of Lincoln. For leadership, the class looked to officers and adviser, Mrs. Hazel McCaskill. Clark Bean, Collen Cruik- shank, Gloria Finkenstein, and Bud Stavney fulfilled the presidency. This year's seniors proudly led the way in rallying to Lincoln. There were many forces which strove to divide, but every senior exhibit- ed patriotismforclassandschool. Of good times together there are many memories: After a fine dress-up banquet December 8, the senior Play, 'Outward 8ound', was presented. To honor mid-year graduates, dress-up day was also observed. The play enjoyed a second performance in February. At mid-year, the graduating class put their shoulders to the wheel to secure annual funds, and promoted five drives simultaneously: a shoe- shine campaign, clothes-hanger collection, cookie sale, barn dance, and sale of faculty photos. Senior week, which was observed May 18 through Zu, was crowded with things to see and do, climaxed with the Senior Review. The Prom and Commencement brought the final heights d a high school career. 'we only regret that we must nowleave Lincoln. we shall always re- menber the convictions we began to develop here, and with which we must now impress companions in college, business, home, and state. 'As we are indebted to Lincoln, so are we determined to carry his spirit into the future. whatever we may do, where-ever we may be, we shall do and be as we learned at Lincoln....And such a way will always be a credit before God and our country.'
