CLASS OF 1951 President .... .... A nthony Zuppe Vice President. . . .... Stanley Yukica Secretary Treasurer .... .... I Jillian Ferenchina Historian .... .... .... . I ulia Torres Sponsor. . . .... Mr. Edward Bouldin Class History We have finally arrived! What a trans- formation has taken place during the past four years. As freshmen we were greener than the well-known meadows. Some of us were intro- duced to the unknown quantities of algebra and to MVeni, vidi, vici in Latin. We struggled through our growing painsw and found ourselves beginning our sophomore year under the presidency of Johnny Howell. In order to help our treasury grow with us, we became super salesmen with peanut brittle, Valentine candy, and Easter eggs as our wares. In our junior year, with HBO Zuppe to lead us, we were still engaged in the process of building our treasury. We waxed dramatic with our presentation of The Passing of the Third Floor Back. We introduced something new and different in the way of dances with our Twirp Dance and Irfobo Dance. The cul- mination of all our efforts came when we acted as hosts to the seniors at our Junior-Senior Prom. The gymnasium became Cinderella's Ballroom under the capable hands of our deco- rating committee. In truth, the magical wand of a Fairy Godmother seemed to have been waved, for the gym was completely trans- formed. During this year, too, we received our class rings to give us the feeling of really nearing our goal. Our transformation was in its last stage as September, 1950, rolled around. It seemed such a short four years in retrospect. During this year with Bo Zuppe leading us again, we danced in Neptune's Kingdom on November 17, 1950. With the coming of the new year every week was filled with numerous activi- ties and with a bit of sadness, for we realized that our school days would soon be at an end. Our thespians really entertained us with the comedy, Cheaper hy lhe Dozen. All too soon the Senior Banquet, Baccalaureate, and Com- mencement were upon us. Now our metamorphosis from green fresh- men to lofty seniors was complete. Instead of having a feeling of superiority we feel some- what wistful and humble-wistful, for our high school days are over, humble, for ,we realize how many were the efforts and sacri- fices performed for us in order to see us achieve our goal.
