, r v I I K i l l SENICR HISTORY At last the day, so long and anxiously await- ed, had arrived! That feeling of well-being that proved to be our mainstay through the first day soon vanished when, much to our dismay, we found ourselves just Freshmen in the eyes of others. We managed to overcome it, and through our determined efforts, showed the upper classmen that we were newcomers of note. Our Sophomore year found us as amateur salesmen, peddling peanut brittle to increase our financial status. The long-remembered highlight of the year was the Sophomore Hop and Beg's party afterwards. In our role as Juniors we definitely began to show a self-imposed importance, for we felt that we were really a main cog in the ma- chinery of the high school! Now our boys start- ed to shine in athletics, and we couldnit be surpassed for scholarship. Again we reimbursed our purses with the sale of peanut brittle, which income went to finance the long-awaited prom, when we played hosts to the Seniors. Shakey and his crew began to work immediately after the theme, In a Garden, was chosen. The advent of the prom necessitated the choosing of class colors. In this, as in other similar sit- uations, we proved ourselves capable of un- usual originality. By popular demand, lilac and silver was the final choice. For the third consecutive year, we elected George to lead us to fame. Our senior year began with a bang as our football team swept to victory with Matt, Piffy, Brother, Ziggy, and Mole in the foreground. The closing of football season meant the approach of the Sen- ior Dance, when the '4Winter Wonderland theme and Clyde Knight's music furnished a combination that will linger long in our memo- ries. Our basketball team captured the Section Nine crown, thus making our sports record for the year an outstanding one. The conclusion of the semester led us to the realization that our school days were numbered. Now all was turmoil with exams, applications, I. tests, etc. Everyone undertook some activity, whether dramatic, athletic, or social. You Can't Take It With You provided an ample outlet for our abundant profusion of wits. Our activities reached the climax with the Senior Banquet, Baccalaureate, and Commence- ment. VVe can look back and truthfully say that we gained much from ichool, and we feel that we contributed to the school through our outstanding activities. We have proved the say- ing, 4'School days are the best days of your life.
