The play was Seven Chances, and was directed by the dramatic teacher, Miss Fern Jude, assisted by the dramatic manager, Inez Holdaway, and the stage managers, Herbert Madsen and Kenner Clayton. The cast of fifteen characters all delivered their parts exceptionally well. Don Holdaway will not need any coaching on how to propose after trying his luck seven times. He emphasizes the old adage, If at first you don't succeed try, try again. Don did, and won his lucky seventh, which was Virginia Taylor. Virginia took her part splendidly. Lyle Brown was ay grouchy old man. But who wouldn't growl, if they had a wife always complaining of not feeling well, as Ivadell did? West Hills didn't stop to drink in the ordinary way, but just poured it down. Carl and Alene rather enjoyed the pretense of beingengaged. Say! Elmer Terry was a real pal to Don, and proved successful in solving all difficulties. Dean Nuttall was an elderly man of a loving nature. He took his part well, be- cause Dean is a natural lover. Grant will be very useful to his wife when she entertains, after the practice he received in carrying a tray. For at- tractiveness, Cleo Jorgensen, Ruby Jepperson, Donna Madsen, Merl Per- kins and V ilda Haws scored high. The parts were all taken creditably, and everyone in the play worked very diligently for its s.uccess. Was It?
