Junior Hiqh LINCOLN Junior High School was established in the autumn of 1928, with an enrollment of 151. The students attending were from Spencer Vineyard, Lake View, Lincoln Grade and Mountain. The variety of sub- jects offered was extraordinary in scope as compared with other Junior High Schools of the State. A splendid working coordination between the Junior High and Lincoln Senior High has made it possible for Junior High students to have access to all the High School equipment. Our students 'come under the instruction of thirteen well trained teachers, each a specialist in his field. They are B. M. Jolley, Principal, History, Thorit C. Hebertson, English, Elwood Baxter, Mathematics and Health, Boyd C. Davis, Science, E. G. Sandgren, Geography and Mechanic Arts, Thomas Cordner, Health, Fern Jude, Physical Education and Health, J. Erval Christensen, Typing, Carl Swen- son, Physical Education, Edna Shelley, Domestic Science, Mary Bird, Domestic Art, Ralph Booth, Music, C. H. Davies, Agriculture. A student body election was held in November and the following offi- cers were elected: Jack Littlefield, President, Miriam Partridge, Vice-Presi- dent, Afton Taylor, Secretary and Treasurer, Paul Taylor, Athletic Man- ager, Julliet Nuttall, Yell Master. These officers have worked diligently for the growth of the school. Splendid Student Body assemblies have been held every two weeks under their direction. Much credit is due the stu- dents for their high standards of work and conduct established. Discipline from the office has been at a minimum during the entire year. Our basketball squad, under the direction of Mr. Baxter, decisively won the two games played with Pleasant Grove. The boys who composed the squad were: Jack Littlefield, Lloyd Brown, Alfred Lupus, Harold Bunnell, Carrol Farley, Jimmie Reesha, Garner Madsen, Robert Bunker and Ted Maag. We are proud of our Junior High and, shall look with interest and hope for the future of the school of which we were the first students. The novel opera Up in the Air , which was presented by the Junior High School, April 18, 1929 proved to be very successful. .
