McGuire, and Mr. Sarig, left Winchester at 5:30 on th! 1, morning of May 2, 1933. '-i ' ' 1 The first place of interest was Limber M Lost country and Gene Stratton Porte home in Geneva. This proved very inte ting to the ones who had read her books.x we motor- ed on north we saw the beautiful Minnonite , church at Berne which belongs to the Amish people of this section. We rived in Fort Wayne at 8:20. There we visi d the Feeble Minded School which was very tiful yet in- teresting. About every pers f any ability f was in classes of art, music, weaving, sewing, carpentering, reading, an simple mathematics. n Here we saw manv beautiful and useful things v 5 N made by the inmates. At 11:30 we stopped Eid had a picnic dinner m,at an old one room scho house. We left here itat 12:45. As we went on north we passed sev- eral beautiful lakes nd at 3:00 we did not 1 ,'on1y visit Whit In itute at South Bend, but 1 also saw the gre I tre Dame Stadium and Col- lege. At 5:15 w e a picnic supper at the tvlndiana A Michig tate line. From here we ,went to Nil , an St. Joseph where we spent tthe night. I . W On the me g of the third we went to the .ouse of David, and then made our way along the 1 ake shore drive back across the state line in- .5o Michigan Gitv 'here we visited the Indiana tate prison which was a very interesting place. e passed the Dunes State Park and at 11:20 we v ntered Whiting where ve ate dinner. At 12:30 1 e visited the Whiting Standard oil refinery, 1 here oil is refined and all other by-products V , f crude oil are made. As ne entered Chicago H he great windy city, ve felt as though we were , earing our main point of interest, the Great or1d's Fair.
