Dedication We respectfully dedicate the 1970 Quill to Mr. Ron- ald Foot, teacher, coach and friend, who devoted 38 years of his life helping to educate and guide young Lin- colnites. Mr. Foot retired last June, thus ending a dareer which saw him teaching the children of his former stu- dents. During these years he served as a teacher in the Business Education Department; Chairman of that same department; coach; and, finally, athletic director. His wit, wisdom and personality have already been sadly missed this year at Lincoln. Mr. Foot was a man who took rules and regulations seriously. He constantly set and maintained high stan- dards for his students and athletes. And although some students grumbled occasionally about that tough Mr. Foot or about how much work he was making them do, it was usually these same students who came back later in life to thank him for making them realize that they could actually do a lot more than they thought they could. Mr. Foot was once heard to say, I want Lincoln High School to be Number One, and when we reach that goal I want us to stay Num- ber One! Certainly, no one ever worked harder than Mr. Foot himself, to achieve that goal. It is, therefore, with a great deal of pride and fond memories, that we dedi- cate this book to Mr. Ronald Foot, Number One in our book! A proud family and a proud principal look on as Mr. Foot displays the plaque he received from faculty and stu- dents for Outstanding Service.
