It was a year for singing. It was a year for sneaking a look at that special boy in class. It was a year for It was a year for getting excited, honors 2 It was a year for sounds. . . groovy sounds. . . mellow sounds. . . soul sounds. It was a year for taking tests. It was a year for exams and homework. It was a year for writing nicknames on folders. It was a year for just goofing around. . . because it s 3:30. .. because it s Friday! . .Yes, It Was A Very Good Year!” 44 The 1968 Quill Staff dedicates this year's edition of the Lincoln High School Yearbook to Mr. Henry Furlong. Lincoln alumnus, Class of 1925. On February 20, 1968, Mr. Furlong and the Milwaukee Exchange Club donated to Lincoln a Freedom Shrine. The Shrine consists of many replicas of important documents from the annals of American history. These documents have been placed in the foyer of the main auditorium so that everyone has a chance to view them. We at Lincoln, both faculty and students, are deeply grateful to Mr. Furlong for his generous and well chosen gift. It becomes even more significant in light of the fact that Mr. Furlong is a former Lincolnite, having attended Lincoln from 1920 - 1925, and having been one of the first major letter winners in sports. The Freedom Shrine and Mr. Furlong himself, stand as sources of inspiration to all Lincolnites, past, present, and future. 4 A D MINISTRA TION FACULTY MR.
