Hands Across ln the midst of an unfriendly and war-torn world, we of the Americas are seeking to establish bonds of friendship with each other. The lnited States, perhaps the most powerful of all the Americas, must therefore take the leading role to promote good will among our neighbors. We can do that most effectually, how- ' Mti Y the Border ever, only if we can show a spirit of good will among our own peo- ple. And it is herein that every citizen can play his part. We, as high school students and pros- pective citizens, should begin now, if we have not before, to make every act of our lives the act of a 'tgood neighbor. We introduce Pancho, a South American or Mexican boy. as you will, and his jitterbug friend from the States, Jackson. Pan- cho and Jackson travel blithely through the pages of our book, observing together the varied and often bewildering facets of each other's lives. lk
