It presented our football and boxing hero, Alex Kondos, in the lead with June Habermehl as his heroine. The cos' tumes and scenery were very colorfulg the musical score and various dances were well presented. Miss Brune and Mr. Lane directed. GREEN STOCKINGS The big event of the Harlequin Dramatic society, was a huge success with Miss Boyle as its director and Miss Craig as assistant. jean Anderson and George Blake were the romantic team, and Merton Koplin was very amusing as an empty headed Englishman with Marie Kitzinger as his lady love. Lack of material in the field events held them back. Captain Forrest Embry was the star of the team, scoring first consistently in the lOOfyard and 22Ofyard dashes. Fred Anderson, half milerg Charles Stelzner, 44Ofyard dash mang and Nick Gazzana, broad jump star, stood out in their respective events. Norman Scharmer and Sam Balistreri, milersg Louis Bjegovich, sprinterg and Gus Menos, half miler, were other standfouts. MINGI2 SPORTS CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM The CrossfCountry team came out from a stormy seaf son with apparently little success. Captain Gus Menos and Fred Anderson were the out' standing runners. Elmer Piraino, Angelo Pizzino, and Herbert Pfaif were their teammates. THE TENNIS TEAM Coach Wergin's tennis team emerged successfully after a long season. Some of the members showed wonderful improvement. William Dane, Ray Zbilicki, and William Retzlaff were the outstanding net players on the team. GYM TEAM Uur Gym team's best representatives in the city meet were Elmer Ramthun and Billy Ganz. Elmer scored 84 points, and Billy totaled 81 points to help the team place. SWIMMING TEAM The Swimming Team were victorious in only one meet, but in doing so produced two individual stars. These boys were Bob Statz and Mathew Schwartz, who received major letters for their feats. INTRAMURALS TEAMS-Top Row: YVildcats 303, Dernie's Danclies 105, All Stars 207D. Divided into two leagues, the teams, representing homerooms, played thirtyflive snappy games. The winners of the A League were Mr. Philipp's Historians of homeroom 322. The B League saw Mr. Cole's C0ssacks at the top. The championship for both .leagues was won by the Cossacks who edged out the Historians , 17f15.
