Kenneth Hear David Rathjen Lawrence Pfeiff Juris Ozois Margaret Armstrong fccUlYL (H fUfldu This year a gold scholarship key was won by each of two top-ranking seniors, Kenneth Haar and David Rathjen, who have identical averages, 1.19. The Harry Sidney Dobbins Award, pre- sented each year since 1913 to a senior who shows achievement in athletics, scholarship, and citizenship, and the Ned Prucha Memo- rial, established in I960, which goes to the highest-ranking student in the National Honor Society, were both won by Law- rence Pfeiff. Juris Ozois competed with seniors from all over the United States to become a National Merit Scholarship winner. A Regents Scholarship to the Univer- sity of Nebraska was won by Margaret Armstrong, this school's highest-ranking senior in the Regents Examination, given to top students in Nebraska high schools. Kenneth Smith, with a scholastic aver- age of 1.75 and thirty superior citizenship ratings, was awarded the Mardis Scholar- ship, established to honor a former princi- pal of this school. The 1961 Girls Athletic Association Medal recipient is Jean Tilman, who has won letters in eight sports and has been this year's president of GAA. Karen Heckman, the state winner in the Nebraska Homemaker of America Con- test, won a four-year scholarship, a trip to Washington, and represented Nebraska in the national contest. This year's outstanding drama student is Helen Anderson, who has appeared in two Mummers plays, in both all-school plays, and in the opera. The Lincoln Symphony presented the outstanding music student award to Gayle Anderson, a member of Junior Girls Glee, Orchestra, Girls Octet, Orpheons, Aeolian Choir, and Youth Symphony.
