STudenT council members give much oT Their Time To exTracurricular acTiviTies records, clean-up cam- paigns, ciTizenship problems, and saTeTy programs. The maior underTalcing oT The sTudenT council is Joy NighT, The mosT popular enTerTainmenT oT The year. Floogle STreeT, The G. l. never-never land, came To liTe beTore The eyes oT an elecTriTied audience when iT was The scene oT Joy NighT This year. The TwenTy-one acTs, in which Two-hundred and TiTTy sTudenTs parTicipaTed, ranged in varieTy Trom a pseudo Franlc SinaTra and Toe-dancing To a roller- slcaTing duo, and were chosen wirh greaT diTTiculTy Trom a Tield OT TorTy-Two hopeTuls. Box oTTice reporTs Tive days beTore The opening perTormance showed every seaT sold Tor all Three nighTs. As a parT oT Their paTrioTic wish To enTerTain and help The soldiers aT The Lincoln Air Field, several oT The acTs wenT To The base hospiTal There. Recording E. C. A. poinTs is an imporTanT responsibilify of council members, Phyllis Harris, Joan Farrar, Mary Sue Holland, Susan LancasTer, and Jackie Gordon. Jagh spar, One evening This spring, The subdued cligniTy oT Lincoln high school was broken by The careTree noTes OT Shoo Shoo Baby. As The TlippanT sTrains oT iT TloaTed Through The halls, The yellow brick edi- Tice aT TirsT seemed shocked and unable quiTe To comprehend The phenomenon. lT seemed To shrink and recoil aT The joyous gaieTy. However, as oTher pieces Tollowed and The aTmosphere oT Triendliness heighTened, The very sTrucTure seemed To loosen up iTs ioinTs and shiTT around on iTs ToundaTions. BeTore The evening was over, The old building was iiTTer- bugging wiTh The besT oT The rug cuTTers, Tirmly converTed To The new Theories oT modern peda- gogy in a modern age oT war. This evenT, apTly TiTled The l-ligh SpoT, was so popular ThaT iT was repeaTed every second Friday nighl ThereaTTer. On The TirsT evening in spiTe oT a driving snowsTorm aTTendance numbered 250, and during The ne-XT Two weeks, iTs repuTaTion so spread ThaT parTicipaTion doubled. Dancing, swimming, games, and reTreshmenTs were on The menu. AlThough The dance Tloor was acceded The mosT popular, and The mosT crowded, yeT many people enioyed a dip in The pool or played pingpong or baskeTball. An aTTracTive snack Table was seT up in The caTeTeria where couples goT TogeTher over pop and doughnuTs. The enTire school is graTeTul To The ioinT com- miTTee oT The sTudenT council and The home room represenTaTives Tor making The conspicuous success ThaT was The l-ligh SpoT.
