Evhiratinn Because so many boys and girls of Lincoln high will be deeply involved in our struggle for freedom in the next few years, and because these young men and women will face the gigantic task of reconstruction and reorganization when peace is won, we dedicate this annual to their future and to the future of the nation they serve. Literally all over the world our alumni are now engaged in the most bitter war in history, serving in the Army, Navy, Marines, and other branches of the armed forces of the United States. Many more graduates will be leaving Lincoln high to join them before long. That we must win a complete victory is certain. There is no other course. But the main- tenance after the war of those precious ideals and institu- tions for which they fought is another thing that we must all strive for. To those who contribute to and make great personal sacrifices for this cause we pledge our effort and support. To those who must give their last full measure of devotion before our goal of peace is reached we can only offer our humblest gratitude and respect .... lfil
