It's catching-the vigor and might behind a human machine that can blend its voices into a single sound, a single cry to the teams to put on the steam and drive up the score. A thou- sand voices in unison have the law and authority that demand action from the teams - that ask for and get more fight and force. Cooperative power can be lion or lamb . . . It can be the spirit of the red-shirts blasting into enemy territory, or it can be the Chanters singing I-Iallelujahf, It can mean the vigor of Dance Drama or the control of a golfer sinking the last putt.
