Such a comment can be heard repeatedly in and around the Art Department, as the students are usually given a free hand in their pro- jects. Art at Lincoln is composed of such courses as Creative Crafts, Stagecraft, Drawing and Painting, and Pottery. With such a variety to choose from the students have many opportunities to strengthen their artistic talents into hard-earned ability toward creating final products with truly professional touches. Lincoln needed a class that could coordinate and cre- ate decorations and stage scenery for special occasions such as plays, musicals, Christmasvespers and the Afro Show. ln Lincoln this year, Mrs. Walbridge has added such a class, called Stagecraft. This class deals pri- marily with preparing flats for the drama class and club plays. The 15 students enrolled work with helping others with set decorations. 29 ,

Foreign Languages This year the Foreign Language Department is studying not only the basic language fundamentals but it is studying the culture and foreign nations. Department Head Senor Hyland said, At Lincoln we have perhaps the best Foreign Language department because there is more cov- erage and we work better with kids than any other schools.
